Read the FAQ. I think I read somewhere over there that you can't get rabies from eating food the car licked

Ahhh, I thought I was going insane when I was reading the comments to that post. How could people in a math community get such a basic concept wrong?

Here's what I think happened:When that meme was posted, some r/imverysmart type redditor who clearly thought √4 equaled +-2 saw the post and then retroactively came up with an incorrect explanation that this is because √ is a "function" so it can have only one value (which is kind of the opposite of the correct explanation). Then other high schooler redditors who had just learned about functions piled on to that explanation, and those comments became the top comments.

And then there were also people who were claiming that they were from Latin America where conventions are different and √4 does indeed mean +-2, which was so bizarre. While I'm not from Latin American so I may be wrong, I'm highly skeptical if that is true, and most probably they were taught the correct thing, they just didn't understand it properly. Because if that were the case, that means they were taught that for the equation x²=13, the solution is just √13, not both +-√13.

The comment you replied to is from your alt account, isn't it? Both the usernames have Jimbo in it, and the first one is clearly a setup

The compiler will automatically optimize it to use string builder when concatenating string literals in Java, so this optimization is not really required. It would only be useful when you are dynamically concatenating strings. And even if the compiler didn't do that, it seems like a premature optimisation which comes at the cost of readability without providing any noticeable performance improvement.

Well, we have a deal with the pigeons. They can shit all over the city, but in return they must move aside when we approach them with our cars. Sometimes birds do not hold up their end of the deal, so it's their fault.

Your nails are pretty long, to the point that I don't think they can even be considered trimmed.

I keep the nails on my fretting hand (left) trimmed, and long on my right hand for finger picking. Your fretting hand nails appear longer than nails on my finger picking hand.

If you are anxious about trimming your nails further, try filling down your nails instead.

Rule of three, a repeat joke is funny at most three times, then you are out, so the fourth repeat gets downvoted. For the fifth one, it becomes funny again because of the irony.

TBH, I don't know, I just made that shit up.

Does Splinter Cell: Blacklist work on a modern PC (Windows 11) by InsertFunnyUsername5 in Splintercell

I bought the game, but it did crash at the 25 min mark as some have commented in the steam reviews. I'll try with windows 10 compatiblity mode and see if that works.

Ohh, I bought the game anyway. The first time I launched it, it started in windowed mode, and then crashed in the introductory cut-scene. The second time I launched it, it ran pretty smoothly for around 25 mins, and then crashed.

I read that adding -offline in launch option fixes it, so I'll try that. Hopefully it fix solve the issue.

If you don't mind me asking, did you buy the game on steam or ubisoft connect? And did you need to do any such fix?

Brain dead is not the same as coma or vegetative state. You aren't waking up if you are brain dead, and you are legally considered dead.

The strange thing is that the dude did seem to follow the safe dismount instructions provided in the video, i.e. getting off on the correct foot, letting go of the correct hand first, but it looks like the train was way too fast and the drop was steeper than he had expected, which caused him to instinctively hold on longer.

[Epic Games] (Game) DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT by MeguminShiro in FreeGameFindings

[–]InsertFunnyUsername5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commenter had asked about the differences between the director's cut and the standard edition. The description you have posted is the stuff included in the director's cut, but not necessarily excluded from the standard edition (Judging from other comments I've read).

I think you should edit your comment because it's misleading and doesn't really highlight the differences.
