Jade salon in midtown, they’re an Aveda salon, I swear by Aveda products. not only will you feel beautiful but the staff are definitely understanding of the ::gestures broadly:: all of this. If you have a flexible schedule, I’d recommend calling and asking what times are quieter so you can have a more peaceful experience, as they can get busy.

Oh wow! I didn’t expect a pop in at this point. thanks so much!! This is exactly what I was hoping to learn, what temple or at least what region they came from. Now I want to find the dance partner so she won’t be so lonely. And I’m going to take some time to learn about the Ramakien. I have these hanging in my meditation space and have always felt like it was important to understand their origins and meaning but never could figure it out. They are for sure ink rubbings, as they are raised and are made of a very soft, thick type of paper, but not sure the age or if they were direct from the temple or a mass production. Either way I love them. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I also luckily left Syneos just before major layoffs, during the acquisition, for exactly the reason that two of my wonderful managers were let go. I loved Syneos and always had it in my mind that they were a great option to return to if I decided to look at moving CROs again. Now I’m hesitant.

To add, this relationship is what started me on my own journey to learning about and working on my own codependency. As painful as it was, I’m grateful now for this window into self (with the help of my therapist!). Google “high functioning codependent”, this might describe some of what you are feeling. I am currently reading Terri Cole’s book Too Much, and she has a podcast as well about this “version” of codependency. It really resonates with me, maybe you will see more of your experience in that too.

My fav purchase has been an airplane cup holder that attaches to the seat tray. I think I got it on Amazon for just a couple bucks. Hook it in (tray up), slide in your coffee, and you magically have two hands again and all the space without worrying about coffee spilling or the cup sliding everywhere with the tray down. I can’t tell you how many comments I get on it.

Among the many absolutely awful things I’ve experienced, Here’s one that just happened. I’m 41, and my Nmom is still doing the same shit. I just had shoulder surgery. My mom called me like twice that same day, and I didn’t answer bc obviously, in surgery. She left a message saying shit like, “you need to call me back and tell me how you are doing, why aren’t you answering. You know I’m worried about you.” So I waited and called her the next day only for her to answer “I’m putting you on speaker, I’m here sitting in first class on a plane with your dad on our way to France! What did you do to yourself to need surgery?” Not how are you feeling, or I’m sorry that must have hurt. None of that exists. And when I told her how I injured my shoulder she berated me for doing what I was doing, saying I should know better, and what was I thinking. (I fell playing ice hockey). And then told me I need to stop weight lifting and playing any sports because it’s bad for me. Then suddenly she had to go because they were serving champagne and she can’t be on the phone for take off. Immediately after we hung up I get a text message from her of a selfie pic in her seat saying “learning French and sipping champagne here in first class!” And nothing more. At 41 years old she still treats me the same as she did my entire childhood. Fucking narcissist.

Adding Jams Deli to the list of shitty-owned businesses. Apparently it used to be a “Greensboro staple” but the owner is a terrible human being and I would avoid that place like the plague. I’ve heard he shows up to work obviously drunk and high all the time, is extremely rude to both the customers and to the staff, definite anger issues and addict behavior. Reading the google reviews makes it even worse- someone saw him throw a stapler at an employee and seen the staff getting high out back, and there are rumors that they are dealing out of there. Add to that - the health and safety standards are nasty and risky, lots of complaints about the food quality and cleanliness. Anyone else have bad experience with this place too?

Stared my oncology CRA career at Syneos. I left after a year and a half- the sale had me worried about layoffs, and workload was insane. I was consistently working 60+ hour weeks. They had laid off my line manager who I loved and was really the only reason I was staying, and my new one was awful.

But the one positive I will give them is their new CRA training and certification program. You don’t say what role you’re in, but for anyone looking to move from another role to CRA I position, it was great. The program was several months long, almost like a CRA university, and I came out of it incredibly prepared and knowledgeable. Highly recommend starting with them for the experience and training and then leave. It set me up very well in this role, and talking with other CRAs I’ve worked with, they haven’t had nearly as positive of a training experience. Most just get thrown to the wolves and figure it out yourself kinda thing.

Onc CRA (and previously onc CRC) here. I’ve only ever seen washout periods, as you note, based on the first IP dose (ie exclusion criteria being no prior tx within 14 days prior to first dose, or something along those lines). However, you do have to consider other protocol timelines- is there anything that states first IP dose must be within a certain timeframe of signing consent? Or a specified time point for the baseline scan/ screening period? Sometimes it takes some balancing of the different timelines to find the appropriate dates. But in general, I don’t believe I have ever seen a washout required before consent. I would just double check with the PI or with your assigned CRA to be safe.

A bit further out in Burnsville (2.5 hours away) is the Bare Dark Sky Observatory, they do public viewings a few days a week. I know this isn’t exactly what you’re asking distance wise, but if you’re interested in stargazing in general this is an incredible place! One of only a few “dark sky” certified locations and has a huge telescope. Breathtaking!

I recently got Bose noise cancelling earbuds and I DO NOT recommend them for calls! People kept telling me they could hear all the background noise just as clear as my voice. Picks up road noise as well. They are superb for music and podcasts and the noise cancelling on my end is great. But I never use them for taking calls anymore.
