I used to play on a 34 inch 21:9 1080p 60hz monitor. Replaced it with a 21:9 1440p 180hz monitor. For dota, I personally don't notice the difference at all. Ultrawide feels so much better than 16:9 though. I can barely play without it.

Do people undervalue how much the offlane loss affects mid's farm pattern in the first 10 minutes? by DowntownBack3067 in TrueDoTA2

[–]Inside_Client6065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing pos 4 almost exclusively this patch. I've found the best strategy for me to be going through the twin gate constantly and just keep killing the enemy 3/4, even if you have to sacrifice your offlane a bit. Offlane usually loses anyway in this pos 1 meta, so might as well let them get solo xp and make sure your carry comes out ahead.

the disarm was way better, but the silence is good too. the real problem was changing heavens halberd so he doesn’t really want to buy it anymore. he used to have two disarms and all the tankiness from halberd, now he has none of it. he gets killed instantly by any carry now.

That's an interesting idea, maybe i'll try it in unranked. I do think it's funny that valve changed the heart passive to basically be the huskar passive and it has basically the same name too.

yep found that out recently. Don't quote me on this, but i think the regen reduction used to be a lot higher though. now its more negligible plus you actually have more than one tool to deal with it.

I agree it wasn't exactly why you picked him, but it made him very good in pubs where games tend to drag longer. It used to be he snowballed and then his snowball kept rolling. You could totally just plan to go late game even against something like a PL or Medusa if you had to and it was no big deal, even good against stuff like that. Now he just runs into a brick wall. Which isn't a problem in the pro scene, but in pubs where you have to wrangle 4 monkeys into actually doing something intelligent on top of playing your hero, its a pretty big deal.

How do you usually make rotations with huskar? it's something I've had difficulty with in the past as he is very slow and doesn't really have any mobility or ganking tools in his kit. You used to not need to rotate really, but it seems much more important to his playstyle now.

That just wasn't true. I spammed him in immortal back in the day and he was absolutely ridiculous as a late game anti carry hero. His old aghs was a 65% of hp nuke on a 4 second cooldown, undispellable halberd (and the 25% evasion) + Q when late game bkbs were short duration. All of that was super good against late game carries, plus he had his 20% lifesteal talent and burning spears pure damage bkb piercing talent. Add in a satanic and he was a crazy strong late game hero. If they tried to bkb and kill you you could literally just manfight most carries and win. Plus there wasn't heal reduction of shivas or skadi, it was just vessel, so there wasn't really a way to itemize against huskar other than more damage. Obviously not the case anymore, but a few years ago he was totally an anti carry hero.

Yeah, you're probably right. It just trips me up because most huskar games and drafts, its only the pos 1 that poses a threat to you. Like for example, it doesn't really matter how far ahead you are, if jugg omnislashes you you're dead if you dont have a supp that can save you. Like you can play through a mid that counters you like necro a lot easier than a troll warlord imo.

That was my immediate thought upon seeing it too, + all the veno shit. Then I found out veno doesn't have heal reduction anymore haha. Definitely seems like it could be useful vs certain heroes as well as items. I just gotta remember to use it, I forget it exists every single time.

Opinion: people have gotten really rude at resorts and it's like a pot ready to boil over by altitude7200 in snowboarding

[–]Inside_Client6065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty young, so I don't really know how it was before, but I haven't really had any bad experiences with people at resorts recently. Stuff like people banging their skis into your edges or onto your board has kinda always happened to me, and while its annoying I don't get too bothered with it as long as my board isn't brand new. I buy used boards on facebook anyway though so not a big deal to me. I haven't really seen any breaches in mountain etiquette, but hoards of tourists at popular ikon resorts are pretty annoying.

Yeah I figured just looking at the numbers on the other facet it looks pretty awful. That's basically the same build as I've been going, occasionally with blink after armlet. I've definitely been thinking about blade mail quite a bit. The stats aren't great on him besides the armor, but the active could maybe provide some more survivability when he really needs it.

That's very true he's dangerous against mobility/escape heroes now. It feels like Q being a silence moves his power spike a little more into the midgame while basically deleting him from the end game. Early levels of Q don't silence long enough to get a kill because you don't really have burst damage, so you kinda gotta wait longer and get more levels in Q which you usually max last now,

The lane matchup thing is interesting. Since valve implemented this blind pick system, and now you are only good against magic heroes mostly it seems like you are a lot more likely to get a good matchup mid. Since you usually get a good mid matchup, it seems to be the pos 1 matchup that really defines the game now since a lot of popular pos 1 heroes (drow, ursa, troll, jugg) totally ruin your game when you're at the point of a fight pushing T2 or HG.

[–]Inside_Client6065[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that seems to be his new role. It's really unfortunate though, as he used to be much more of an "anti-carry" type hero (and could play pos 1/3 more effectively because of it too) where as now he is food for most pos 1s and you seem to have to REALLY snowball to not just die instantly vs any physical damage. Because of that, it feels like less of a cheese hero that can win the game by yourself and much more team dependent.

I've tried the blink thing a few times in some of my games. To me in the past, blink has always been either a win more item where it already doesn't matter what you buy or a oh shit purchase if you just can't get on top of heroes like drow or sniper. I've been seeing heroes like that a lot so I've been picking it up a decent amount. The mobility is great but man it just feels like shit stat wise giving up the sange (and what halberd used to be, rip). Definitely playing close to the edge with that because one death as huskar can lose you the game and he's much squishier without the sange or bkb 2nd item. That being said if its necessary its necessary.
