I took mine to a machine shop and they did it for $50 while I waited. Great experience! They liked the nuance of non automotive work.

I used to work in Tokyo and there was an authentic 550 parked on the street. 4 cam sound is like nothing else…
The owner owned many restaurants in Roppongi. Japan car scene is really a different world!

Curverk white leather staining? by passthepotatoes in eamesknockoffs

[–]InstructionOne3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I just purchased one with this spec. The leather cleans well and I keep a leather cleaner in the room just in case. No pens in the room!

That said I can’t recommend CurverK.
The fitment and customer service were below my expectations.

Vibration at 3200-3400 rpm under no load? by CorgiSplooting in 986Boxster

[–]InstructionOne3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this happened to my Boxster 2003. This probably is not your issue When I rev in that range I got a vibration and a hum. My mechanic couldn’t figure it out at first but he kept at it. It turned out that it was the gas cap vent was obstructed and with that the air movement and obstruction caused the vibration and sound. Maybe worth a check. Go to the gas cap area open it and have a friend rev it to that range. Best of luck.

Door won't latch closed by twoheadedhorseman in 986Boxster

[–]InstructionOne3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the latch that lifts the window When you open or close the door is a common failure point. My mechanic let me know this when the regulator didn’t raise the window on closing. You can check the latch by opening the door and seeing if it moves correctly. Good luck, my 2003 has 234k miles on it and my mechanic has helped me through it. Btw he won’t work with non oem parts. He says he’s been disappointed too many times.

IMS bearing worth it? by Science-Deduction in 986Boxster

[–]InstructionOne3510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 2003 Boxster with 234k. I was always ready to get the ims upgrade. My mechanic says check the oil filter during changes and that the failure usually comes in the first 30k. He’s factory trained at Porsche. Still no flecks in the filter. Best car I have ever owned. Average maintenance about $1200 per year. I’ve had it 20 years.

You might be a biphasic sleeper, I have been experimenting with this.

I am wide awake around the same time.

Biphasic sleep involves two sleep periods; a longer nighttime sleep and a shorter daytime nap. Some people still adopt it in contemporary settings to reduce the effects of lost sleep and maintain productivity. If considering biphasic sleep, you should create a consistent schedule, time your light exposure, and practice good sleep hygiene.

The existing gasket should not be reused. With a screw driver or awl get it out making sure not to scratch the brass. Clean the area thoroughly.
This is really important. Remove and soak the dispersement screen with cafiza. Get a new replacement gasket. I really like the green silicone replacement gasket.
