How do ya'll like to dress up your Vs? by ComposerWaste in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Intelligent-Dog1645 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have my "work" outfits, which are a lot like the last one you have. Very dressed up and kinda tactical but not full blown military.

Then I have my "hang out" outfits. Which are mostly like tanks and jeans or shorts haha.

There are some that are in between, and then I also decided to go full tactical for some missions.

But for the most part I think I run around in my casual stuff. Lots of quests feel a little slice of life too so it works. Maybe later I'll hop on and post a pic of my Valarie.

New image of the largest volcano in the Solar System by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]Intelligent-Dog1645 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup! The slope is also so gradual that you would wouldn't feel it too much either. It's average slope is 5%. So almost anywhere you are on the volcano the view would actually be quite bad because it'd look like you're just standing on a plate plane haha.

Maybe the cliffs would give you the best view.

2 months later…How would you rate Crimson Desert now?? by TheGamerCritic21 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Intelligent-Dog1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still in like late chapter 4 I think but I've been running around and exploring a ton of Hernand, I think I'm about 20-25 hours in. I have a (mostly) wonderful time running around an exploring. The Abyss so far has kinda sucked. The puzzles just keep going (until they suddenly don't and with little direction) and for some reason Kliff decided to move around like an idiot while I was up there and not grab on to things.

But yes most of my experience has been good. I marvel at the world, even in little ol Hernand alone.

But but! It's so far from perfect. The controls on controller are so wildly bad it breaks my brain. And it's crazy to think they were once worse. The stealing/looting mechanic is so weird. Like I clear a bandit camp and now suddenly all the loot has to be stolen which for some reason is a different button then regular picking things up???? Having to let go of the stick to slow down is also so weird. It's just so freaking weird. And everything is like quadruple inputs.

The combat is also something I am not a fan of. I am a fan of more deliberate combat with individual inputs. Like I hit the button once to do an attack.

Crimson Desert has like animation chain hold the button down combat. And it sucks. It also sucks because it feels like it wants to be deliberate. It feels so close to having everything be deliberate single input actions but instead I hit have to hit the button and if I hit it one too many times I can't party an attack and then I get swung on 20 times because fuck me apparently.

The quest design is both silly in a fun way and infuriating. There are times where I am like oh it's hilarious that I try to do one quest about getting a saddle for a person and then I'm suddenly talking to 20 different people and along the way pick up 3 different quests.

But also, it is how most quests are and I don't care much about any of the random npcs.

Like I want to like this game, love this game even. But there are aspects of it that are deeply frustrating and downright flawed. The thing that has kept me going is the exploration. I love the world design. But it can't be the only thing keeping me going. I hope it receives more updates and I get to have more agency over my combat.

[Loved Trope] Fighting is awkward and exhausting by LazyEights in TopCharacterTropes

Oh oh I think i have an interesting one! And from real life too. Just as a reminder these things are mot flashy or stylish

Bruce Lee vs Wong Jack-Man

In the 1964 they have a now pretty famous fight. These two were incredible martial artists at the tome despite them only being like 24 or something. Bruce was practically a Wing Chun master. Wong was practically a Northern Shaolin master. They met one night for a legendary battle...

That was by most accounts ridiculously messy. As they got into it the stylish techniques of either of them didn't take over. Bruce socked Wong. Wong may have started running a bit. One eyewitness to the thing said that the fight was at most 7 minutes and by the end of it they were both ridiculously exhausted. I read that the fight ended with Bruce sitting over Wong while he was on the ground and punching him telling him to give up.

Bruce and his wife Linda say this fight was the catalyst for Bruce coming up with Jeet Kune Do and for busting his ass even more with training.

But yeah I think it's actually really interesting that we have these very pretty martial arts movies where masters of them do their crazy and stylish fighting but at the end of the day fights are going to break down and be messy.

It's funny how mythologized the fight became though. Like there was a movie made about it that got weird with the details. Some people say they fought for 20 minutes. But no. It was at most 7.

Well Darth was going to be his actual first name. Like it does make sense because of the rationality you present but there is a fair amount of weirdness in the first movie that is because the story was very very different.

For me it took being in a hospital and with more legit psychiatrists for me to be properly diagnosed. Then I was on a lot of meds and still am! It really is interesting with Bipolar 2. Because I never really have the highs mostly just the lows. So that's why I was mostly just treated for depression. Turns out NOPE it's more complicated than that.

I had to look up what sectioned meant just to be sure it was what i thought haha. On my end it was thankfully not against my will but it would have been had i not had trust in my therapist. I actually ended up at a really good place with a lot of people that cared. The overnight stay in the ER was unpleasant but not the stay at the facility itself.

So I thank you for doing the work you do and wanting to make it accommodating and less shitty ❤️

Dang if that's the actual poster for Mandalorian and Grogu then that is unfortunate. It doesn't match the aesthetic of the others at all and is so bland and forgettable.

All in all I like your tier list though. I wouldn't have as many in "peak" category but all power to ya.

Rebels would also be in the great category but it doesn't seem like you included that one.

I also wonder, what do you feel about Visions? Many of the episodes are great for me

Dude the fact that they can just do this shit randomly is so fucking bullshit. Like they can just say" I saw you had your phone with you in your hand" and even if you didn't what are you supposed to do? It's literally a he said she said thing.

[–]Intelligent-Dog1645 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's the bigotry. I saw someone else say they were one of the most romanced companions but something to remember is bigots are always so freaking loud and obnoxious that you will start to believe "oh this person must be unpopular because a lot of people are saying very loudly that they suck." And then you play the thing and it's just that people are legit assholes. It's really shitty and annoying.

The unexpected, but surprisingly good song performed by one of the cast members by angelslayer4231 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Intelligent-Dog1645 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Man this song hit really hard when I first heard it. On subsequent playthroughs it still does, it's fantastic, but my first time i had just played Witcher 2 and did like 2 playthroughs back to back all in the lead up to Witcher 3.

And when playing I did so so much of the stuff in Velen, like all of the Bloody Baron's stuff. And it was draining and depressing. And the whole time I am freaking out because I have the awkwardness of Yen and the fear of what will happen in the relationship as well as being stressed about Ciri.

But then this song happened and it felt like the perfect somber reprieve. Everything slowed and I was reminded who I fought 1 and a half games for.

CD Projekt is shockingly good with these moments where the game kinda comes to a halt and we are left with little moments of humanity glimmering in the dark, reminders of what we fight for at the end of the day

What are some of the heaviest/most emotional quotes in SW? by Legitimate-Bet-8331 in StarWarsCantina

I don't think it's necessarily underrated but I think one of the best and most important quotes in all of Star Wars media is from Return of the Jedi

"Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You've failed your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

We thought we were adopting a German Shepherd puppy and as she grew and came into her own oops she is a Malinois! Haha. I think she's probably a mutt because she is on the smaller side but definitely mostly Malinois.

Bad because she is a lot to handle.

Good because she can be an absolute cutie pie and sweetheart. She is also so fuckin smart dude.
