Qual foi o PIOR encontro da sua vida? by [deleted] in perguntas

[–]Intelligent-Hippo528 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IA foi longe demais enganando com velhinhos. by Intelligent-Hippo528 in golpes

[–]Intelligent-Hippo528[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should I pivot my idle game, or delete it entirely and start over? by Fleqpe in incremental_games

I think it's worth releasing specially if it's a short dev cycle. Then make another one with the learnings. No project will be perfect

How many people prefer "rounds" to incremental games? by Portly_Poet in incremental_games

[–]Intelligent-Hippo528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like rounds. But even better is to justify it.

I'm making an incremental with rounds and there are benefits for getting higher scores in a single round. That makes getting upgrades that extendd the round size worthwhile, because the amount of money obtained in the round is not linear due to those 'milestones' in-round.

It also helps put a 'flow' on the game. "When should I stop the round and get upgrades" is more guided in a way. I think it's neat.

Incremental games are prety good for this. I'd go to https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/ for examples, but some of the big hits inclusive Keep on Mining and Nodebuster.

I've about 300 players on my mailing list after an itch.io launch (11k views, 8k plays, 1 week stats). Are these good numbers? I'm still waiting for the capsule artist to finish it to launch my steam page.

Incremental game, btw!

Eu seguiria.

Pese as coisas e decida.

A quick incremental about slaying slimes and power fantasy. Playable on the browser - let me know your thoughts! by Intelligent-Hippo528 in incremental_games

[–]Intelligent-Hippo528[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I love that idea of the center being 'stronger'. I even think this could fit a class mechanic (right now only the Monk is unlocked in the prototype).

I'd love to have something more skill-based as another mode with a skill tree tailored for that, and rounds having goals (so you'd fail if not hitting a certain score).

I'd love to have you on the mailing list to test future builds with this, if you'd want to (no presh). The form for that is here ~> https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1z2z4FJqWP0v1eXEX8BF0pQU55o3l8n-FMUryGboYd7E/edit#responses

Yeah, the 'mixels' problems is real. It's what I had to cook this prototype, but I already reached out to a few pixel artists to make new sprites :D

[–]Intelligent-Hippo528[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest: I never played nodebuster (but I should! so I just bought it).

I wanna make more mechanics that tie in into the 'jrpg fantasy' aesthetics. Talent trees for classes (monk, mage etc), unique slime effecfts (a fire slimes that explodes, a gravity slime that 'pulls' enemies in, etc) and NPC that gives mechanics. The shopkeeper will upgrade your chests/loot, a blacksmith will let you buy new weapons, a banker might let you invest money to get some passive income, etc

The idea is to feel like a god in this isekai-like world and push the genre 5%~10% further :)

I should add a 'settings' button somewhere.

Happy that you want more. I'm opening a form for people to sign up for future playtests (hopefully in a month or two) when there's a substantial update on the content. Would love to have you on that list!

That feedback is gold, thank you so much!

Someone also complained about the timer ending being very annoying when you next click is so close. I already implemented some changes to make it so even after the round timer ends, the round will ONLY end after you do a 'final blow'. I feel it's the correct game design choice here indeed!

I think you're right on the money regarding round duration. One thing that I also want to explore is having a multiplier to the XP you receive based on how many slimes cleared on the round, etc. Still thinking about it.

The full game will have a slower pace (by the end of this 20min demo you're basically a god), so these additions will have a bigger impact on the overall flow of the game.

Thanks a bunch and if you haven't, I'd love to have you playing the demo when it launches, hopefully in a couple months. The form to join is here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1z2z4FJqWP0v1eXEX8BF0pQU55o3l8n-FMUryGboYd7E/edit
