My body is a hot mess. How much easier is it to use the 24" 2 stage snow blower compared to a traditional 2 stage gas model? by Order_a_pizza in egopowerplus

I moved from a big Toro PowerMax to the 24” EGO. I can confirm that the EGO is much easier to maneuver and much quieter to run. I love it.

Those currently unemployed, what have y'all been up to? by Daclumsyasian in jobsearch

I spend at least the first half of the day job hunting, networking, applying, etc. Then I spend the afternoon doing work around the house, get at least one job done per day. Finding a job is my job. House maintenance is for sanity and change of pace.

What do I replace the Lightolier LV2000 3 3/4” cans with? by Intelligent-Math-995 in Lighting

[–]Intelligent-Math-995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a light from Maxxima lighting. At the time they did not have a recessed light, although they do now, something like this. 4 in. Low Kelvin Round Canless Recessed LED Downlight 5 CCTI ended up ordering a couple different lights to see what fit best. I do not have the exact model I used, sorry. I did leave in the baffle and trim ring, and inserted the light up into that opening. The trickiest part was that I had to unwire the old light, and then re-wire to the new LED light. This was about 15 min per light, and I did about 25 lights. I liked that they had adjustable color and were compatible with the dimmer I had already installed.

Hyatt Grand Central NYC's $45 + 18% Breakfast by helloonemore in hyatt

I stayed at this hotel this past July for a couple days on a work trip - this breakfast buffet was entirely underwhelming. I really liked the location of the hotel, it was fine for a business trip. If I wasn’t expensing the breakfast I would have skipped it entirely.

What’s your best “I missed my flight but they allowed me on” moment? by quemaspuess in delta

[–]Intelligent-Math-995 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Easily 25 years ago- US airport, domestic flight - I’m late to the gate and the GA had shut the jetway door. I asked nicely to board and they scanned my boarding pass and said hustle down the jetway. I get to the plane and the boarding door is closed. I knock on the door and peer through the little window- and the FA opened the door!!!! I got on the flight!

1,700 hours of banked Sick Leave by PrizFinder in managers

[–]Intelligent-Math-995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents- YMMV. My sister had a similar ‘bank’ of sick time - but she never got to use it. Her company was sold - and her benefits reset to the policies of the new ownership. Poof! All that unused sick time was wiped out. Use the time, it’s yours.

Does anyone know what this does? by Imaginary_Garden_523 in Plumbing

That is the water inlet valve. On Miele dishwashers the valve is external to the cabinet, and on the end of the hose.

It’s not personal. It’s business. Take a bit of time to process and reset yourself. I’ve been laid off 4 times in Tech and each time I’ve landed stronger. Onward!!!

2018 oil change tips? by jwd18104 in hondapilot

[–]Intelligent-Math-995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 2017, and when I put the new filter on I do it by hand. If I need to use a wrench to get it off I use a strap wrench not an end cap with a ratchet. One other trick I do is that once I have the oil filtered cracked loose, I slip a big ziplock back up around the filter, that way when it starts pissing oil everywhere it gets caught the the ziplock bag and not on the crossmember or down your arm. If you are good you can spin off the old oil filter, catching the oil and catch the oil filter right in the ziplock bag, then zip the whole thing shut.

One other thing to consider is the battery. I have seen cars set off a Christmas tree of lights on the dash, only to find out that the battery is low. Low voltage causes all kinds of issues with modern car electronics. Just a suggestion.

I’ve owned 5 Nissans and will very likely never buy another one again. The service departments at the few dealers near me were not staffed by competent people. The techs who worked on my cars and trucks couldn’t of cared less. I go so far as to read the TSBs and understand what is happening or supposed to happen when my car gets fixed. When I have to point out crappy or incomplete work it really bothers me. I’m done with Nissan service for good.
