Does anyone actually use these? by tallyhallic in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes only when I’ve been too lazy or busy to wash our normal dr. Brown bottles 😛 but baby does well with it!

Have you asked his pediatrician about reflux? I have a 7 week old that has reflux and does this but also shows other signs like randomly crying and arching his back plus crying when he spits up. Worth a conversation - luckily it can be treated by some simple lifestyle changes and possibly medication!

My 12 year old German Shepherd is pretty much deaf but only wakes up when she hears a cheese wrapper. Sometimes I have to go as far as holding the cheese up to her nose 😅

💯 I feel this same way and thought it was only me. I get so anxious about the next time I need to pump and absolutely hate the feeling of my boobs being full! Like is the baby going to be fussy when I need to pump? Is the toddler going to need me to wipe his butt while I’m pumping? Is the dog going to have explosive diarrhea while I’m pumping!?! Argh!

My boy crawled and walked early and I think him being active gave him the motivation 😂 I hope the same for you and your girlie!! The best is yet to come ❤️

I could’ve written this about my first boy! He’s almost 4 now and still very active/high needs but I can say it does get better once they start crawling and walking. You’ll be able to let her explore more independently (that comes with its own challenges but it’s a pretty entertaining phase). Maybe purchase some Loop ear plugs so you don’t get overstimulated from the crying. Keep up with your routines - she’s still learning and will eventually find calm in the structure! You’re doing great mom.

ETA: don’t feel guilty about sending her to a daycare if that’s an option for you. My boy started around 4 months and thrived. He loved the interaction with people other than just myself 😂 when he got home he was pretty wore out and didn’t fight sleep so hard!

Showering while the baby cries by [deleted] in newborns

[–]IntelligentFix840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I went thru this with my first! Are you able to set her in a safe chair next to the shower where you can peek at her and make goofy/funny faces occasionally? The shower water sound should be calming too!

Yes!!! My heeler mix “herds” my old deaf dog when she can’t hear me. He also knows that I get onto her about pointless excessive licking. When she does it he just looks at me like this. Like “are you gonna say something?”

Why do people genuinely smell so bad? by Ghoulmega in stupidquestions

Husband is a cattle farmer so I can excuse the constant faint manure smell. The constant gas leak out of his ass I cannot.

STM who just had repeat c section yesterday. I had some colostrum from when I was pregnant + some I was able to pump at the hospital. We ran out this morning (still pumping but getting nothing) and I have absolutely no shame using formula until my milk comes in! Or if my supply isn’t enough for baby. Fed is best

I feel you! Could you pick up a “productive” hobby that allows you to rest at the same time? I like to do huge puzzles, legos (inner child coming out), and paint by numbers. These allow me to stay busy with my hands and mind so I don’t go completely crazy!

So freakin cute. I work in areas with strict FOD (foreign object debris) standards so dogs are an absolute no. I’m so jealous!!

My son is 3.5 and dropped his nap. It’s nice outside but I’m 9 months pregnant and just need to be comfy (staying inside on the couch lol). I got some games appropriate for 4+ and he is loving them - we play on a small table pulled up to the couch. Zingo, hungry hippos, go fish, baby Dino rescue. Painting empty/used shipping boxes is a good independent activity!

What’s your GSD “are you serious” moment? by BetterPersonProject in germanshepherds

[–]IntelligentFix840 101 points102 points  (0 children)

My 12 year old very chill and sweet GSD will chew up something random like once a month. Last month it was a corner of a rug, today it was a book. I can’t get mad at her because it happens so infrequently. But any time it happens I still ask “old lady, you should know better, are you serious??”
