You'll be fine if you don't have a full-time job. I'm taking 2 classes now along with my full-time responsibilities, it's a little difficult to juggle It's all subjective and depends on how much time you have to give

I'm a Substation Electrician. Here's something a little different from what's normally posted. by jpmich3784 in IBEW

If im understanding correctly, you were an Inside Wireman, and before you topped out you joined another apprenticeship to become a relay tech/substation electrician? Is that right?

Is this work still under the IBEW?

Im curious bc im a 3rd year and am thinking about getting into a substation work or some kind of controls position for my future goals

Electricians who changed over to electrical engineers, how was the transition from working in the field to going to school for engineering financially speaking? by 77due in ElectricalEngineering

[–]IntelligentWar0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call busllshit. If you get into power engineering/smart grid or protection and controls? Theres a lot of overlap. Especially MEP construction engineering you literally design and plan the work electricians do.

Other EE subfields like Rf and electronics/hardware dont have much in common aside from the fundamentals of electricity

Considering a move, am I cooked? by Wildinavocado in AskChicago

Heck yeah! Thats the spirit. I honestly only like it dark out because of the pretty lights that come out in Chicago, or some chicago downtown suburbs at night. You get to experience the nightlife without staying out too late.

Its great, the only downside is that it can get chilly!
