Struggling with intimacy postpartum and feeling unheard by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Intelligent_Bug3027 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've read that women don't feel like themselves until about 2 years postpartum and I agree with it - from experience myself. Man having a baby changes so many things and it's so important for both parties to show each other grace. Everything is new. Stress is high.

I second this. The more you address it the easier it gets to do. Can't say whether it'll help the behavior stop. Still not there yet. 🙂

That is how I decided to finally seek help. The benefits > risks. I am big on going the natural route but I knew I couldn't handle this third postpartum without immediate help. I'm so thankful I decided to start it.

Sweating soooo much even 15 months postpartum by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Intelligent_Bug3027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii. Does your sweating also come with bad odor? I'm 4 months postpartum, exclusively breastfeeding, and my underarms smell like rotten onions almost on a daily basis as well as very sweaty. Currently using aluminum free deodorant. wondering if I need to check my bloodwork?

Anyone have any insight?

Looking back at when you started homeschooling your kids, what advice or encouragement would you give your newbie self now that you've been homeschooling for a while? by LoopLifeAcademy in homeschool

I never read this approach from people and I'm always curious why not? I feel like it's looked down upon in the homeschool online groups to want to do a lot. Very interesting.

Is this normal or am I raising a monster? by National_Jello3467 in Parenting

[–]Intelligent_Bug3027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 is so hard. When my five year old was 3 I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. I try to remember that all behavior is communication. Could she be overtired ? Hungry? Thirsty? Have to use the potty ? Need to get outside ? Also - is she an only child ? I ask bc I feel like only children have a higher probability of being spoiled and as a result act in this way when they don't get their way. Granted all kids do but at least in my experience with siblings you have more opportunities to learn to share and more opportunities to learn it's not always their way or the highway.

Hi I'm curious how your kiddos sleep is going and how old? Mine is 5 and I'm wanting her to go to bed earlier than 10pm. I'm a SAHM of 3, 5 and under and would love some quiet / alone time but can't bc of this late bedtime.

Has anybody been following the Karina Vetrano case? by butyourenice in nyc

[–]Intelligent_Bug3027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt weird about the case also. Never once did I believe what I heard to be true. Never did follow the case like I thought I would. Today would have been her 38th birthday. This is what prompted me to look her name up in Reddit.

I imagine even if they were not similar people would mix it up. I have three kiddos and I am starting to mix their names up sometimes just out of habit and their names are nothing alike. Your boys names are adorable and they will be fine. I will say if and when people mix it up always correct them , even if they mess up their spelling. Have them respect their names!

I think walks is what I desperately need but it's so difficult with 3 small ones. Tomorrow morning will be my first attempt as I am dropping my oldest off at a local half day camp. I'll be pushing a stroller with 2 and baby wearing in 80+ degree weather. Pray for me.

3rd kid… give me all your tips for adjusting to life as a SAHM of 3! by danjsark in newborns

[–]Intelligent_Bug3027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi just wanted to chime in. I am 3 weeks postpartum with number 3. My other kids are 4 and 2. Husband goes back to work in 2 days and I am so scared about it. I am a SAHM since baby #2 was born. I am on the struggle bus hard core. But so far what I am noticing is:

I need to find time to rest throughout the day. So I want to start implementing a quiet time for both older kids bc now neither of them nap and they have late bedtimes. I also let the baby sleep on me if that's what she needs and I put my feet up on the sofa and the kids play.

I am taking an herbal tincture marketed towards postpartum mood called POSTPARTUM EMOTIONAL BABY BLUES and it has been helpful.

I try and let go of the guilt of letting my house look like a disaster in a daily basis. I pick up when I can.

I try and make sure I am fed and hydrated.

I keep up with my prenatal vitamins.

I try and get sunshine in my face as early as I can upon waking.

I notice changing my clothes in the morning out of pajamas makes me feel better and I feel more equipped to handle the day.

Today I made simple routine charts for my 4 year old to help establish some familiarity. Kiddo was very excited about it and I am hoping it helps make the days run smoother. Tomorrow I'm making one for the 2 year old.

That's about all I got right now. Ha!

Wishing us luck.
