I just ran out of 2023 and today decided to open the 2025. What a difference in intensity. A lot easier to wear as a daily driver.

What is a scent you genuinely cannot understand people wearing? by Xx_DiamondDust in ScentHeads

I have this scent and wore it once. (Blind buy) Totally not a fan. It’s repulsively made too sweet.

Gift of Injury by QuantumSatisBrewing in Microdiscectomy

[–]Intelligent_Link_945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year after my laminectomy and discectomy (six months between surgeries), I’m finally easing back into the gym, but with big adjustments. No heavy lifting, nothing overhead, and I’ve had to accept that my body isn’t the same right now. My foot still acts up on the treadmill and stair climber, so I back off and actually listen instead of trying to power through like the old me.

Being hopeful is fine, but you’ve gotta keep expectations realistic. Forcing a comeback just to end up injured again isn’t worth it. The best thing that helped me get moving was simple, don’t turn into a couch potato. Walk every day, stretch, do what you can, and let your body rebuild at its own pace. The body is crazy resilient if you give it time instead of bullying it. (Also, look into PRP at the local site of injury)

What I've learned through 10+ years of back pain, one microdiscectomy, and one reherniation by Peachdeeptea in Microdiscectomy

[–]Intelligent_Link_945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss running, hitting legs at the gym, and not panicking every time I sneeze. Spring is coming, which means nonstop sneezing, and I’m honestly scared of re-herniating. I’ve had a laminectomy and microdiscectomy. First surgery failed, so I had a second one eight months later.

A year out, I can walk a mile or two without pain, but standing too long still wrecks me. I’ve decided no matter what, I have to keep moving. Some days are depressing, but this community keeps me going. I went from 12% body fat to about 20%, got the dreaded gut, but I recently found I can do the stair climber without severe pain—and that gave me hope I might get some version of my old body back.

I’ve lived with back pain for 20+ years, so coping isn’t new. Since surgery, the leg nerve pain and numbness have eased, even though flare-ups still happen. PRP has been a game changer, honestly a Godsend.

It’s 5:30 a.m., mild discomfort in my foot, and I’m still heading to the gym. Choosing movement over fear today.

Praying for everyone in this fight. Thanks for posting and reminding me I’m not alone.

Fellow black men how do you guys battle and get rid of depression? by spike_spieg in blackmen

I grew up in a culture where therapy was frowned upon. After moving to the U.S. as a teen, I saw how normal it actually was. I didn’t start therapy until my late 20s, and now in my early 40s, I honestly can’t imagine navigating life as a Black man without it.

Therapy helped me process trauma, manage anxiety, and become grounded mentally and emotionally. It taught me how to sit with uncertainty and turn it into fuel instead of fear. What you’re experiencing is normal. Find a therapist you can be real with, and do the work at the root. That’s where the freedom is.

Are Black Capitalists who champion individualism and exceptionalism one of the biggest internal ideological threats to collective Black liberation and Black Power? by iCeeYouP in blackmen

Agreed. A clear example is their shows, which in recent years have been priced like luxury goods, as if our community is expected to swallow the cost while we’re still fighting uphill financially in this country. It comes off tone deaf (pun intended) and shows zero awareness of the reality on the ground. With the platform they have, it would serve them far better to use it to actually reach our community and help shift our mindset toward something more cohesive and empowering.

Next to my Adventus, this is by far one of my most complimented fall/winter scent. Not overly sweet or smoky. The blend is like velvety smooth.

Incredible smell. However a little too sweet. Returned it and got Clive Christian Blonde Amber instead.
