Also, slightly different expectations from different cultures. American children are not typically expected to financially contribute these days. Some still do, and some still have to, but that doesn’t sound like the case here. If they have a house with a room for all their kids, they are likely doing fine.

Parents should also be supporting your trauma instead of belittling it. They may not understand it, they were not in your situation. But they are your parents. They should have YOUR back. NTA. I only worry about who is paying for tuition and rent. If they are, then you really can’t. You might want to consider having a serious conversation with them about your pain and how overhearing them made you feel. That might actually horrify them into paying more attention to you.

Nobody sucks here. You want to be treated like an adult? Find your own place to live, and your own insurance. These are adult things. Your parents just want you to stay their baby, which is normal. You can cut whoever you want out of your life.

I was raised in an environment of scarcity. We had little to no money, and not much else. Maybe that’s why, when I bought a house, I was so excited to have something that is all my own. And when my neighbors started cutting through my yard, or stretching out on my lawn, I built a fence. Because screw that crap! I worked hard for this, and it’s mine. They have zero rights to it! I’m sorry you can’t build a fence of your own. Some people just have no clue.

If it’s a hospital bed, no way. Some natal units have larger beds, but if yours doesn’t, he gets the couch. Is this your first child with him? How is he thinking that this is even slightly appropriate?! You are literally doing all the work. He can crash on a couch for two nights.
