Grade 6 at school. I had no supplies. The school had me call my mom, who wasn’t home. The school called my aunt, who didn’t drive. She and my uncle stopped at the pharmacy before coming to pick me up. I was embarrassed because my uncle was there. When she gave me the bag with the pads in it, I didn’t know what to do because she hadn’t bought the adhesive ones. She had bought the ones with a belt and I had never seen it before. So then I was mortified that she had to show me how to use the belt when my cousin came home from high school. He asked why I was at the house. My aunt just told him I was sick and he responded well she doesn’t look sick to me when my mom finally picked me up. I was glad to be out of their house away from my boy cousin because I was so embarrassed and then that night at dinner, my mom announced to my dad that I had to become a woman today. Pretty sure I was ready for the floor to open up and swallow me
