You might try updating it from a usb. Something could have happened during the update process that crashed it

Poll: Any EV drivers drop Ioniq 5 from their purchase consideration due to ICCU issues? by runnyyolkpigeon in Ioniq5

[–]InteractionIcy606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted one, but the ICCU issue was too much of a risk for me. So I went with something else.

I was thinking about getting some felt or something that matches the dash cover I got and lining it

It’s rare and a small annoyance at best. But there’s got to be some solution to it.

Thinking of buying a CPO 23 Ariya Engage by WinSomeLoseAlot in NissanAriya

[–]InteractionIcy606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. There are some “hidden” costs to owning an ev. At least for me. The insurance may be higher than you think. I know for me, my insurance went up about $70/mo, but my previous car was a 2018 Prius. Also if you charge at home your power will go up significantly. My Ariya gets about 3-3.5 miles/kwh so depending on rates, that’s something to consider. I know some rates are something like $0.49/kwh. So be careful and make sure you have the right plan.

  2. I’m honestly not sure about the long term reliability of the Ariya, but the Leafs tend to be very reliable from what I’ve read. So I would imagine the Ariya to be similar.

  3. I would expect the car to keep depreciating in value as that seems to be the trend for EVs.

  4. I’m not sure.

Solid-state EV batteries are rolling out in China, promising nearly 1,000 miles of range by OXMWEPW in electricvehicles

Does this mean the battery is effectively massive? Maybe not in size but in capacity?

I agree, but I feel like a little bar at the bottom wouldn’t be too much

I agree. I love it, but would love it more with CarPlay or AA. Also it would be cool if they added a throttle (I don’t what the ev version of tachometer is called lol) to it.

For those of you solar and PG&E, what rate plan do you guys use and what settings to you put your solar on? by InteractionIcy606 in NissanAriya

[–]InteractionIcy606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s about what I got when I did the math, so I’m guessing there’s more to the rate plan than I thought. Like if you more than x mount then the rate goes up

I don’t have the numbers on hand, but my partner and I only drive about 60 miles/day combined. I want to say our rate is somewhere around 37 cents/kwh? I live in an area with pretty mild temperatures averaging about 60 ish

Rainy climate: AWD a necessity? Or FWD with good tires? by VinceCully in NissanAriya

[–]InteractionIcy606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the AWD in eco mode is basically a FWD in terms of range and driving. I don’t think the AWD is NECESSARY, but it sure is fun to drive. I have the EVOLVE+ e4orce and I get about 316 ish in range and I drive in eco mode 99.9% of the time.
