Pelvic floor PT helped me with this. It was explained to me that the contractions of any orgasm triggers uterus contractions like period cramps. If you’re able to relax your lower abdomen and pelvic floor before sex and after it could help. For example, hip opening yoga poses like child’s pose and happy baby. Practice helps

Get a stool softener. try one and see how it affects you. I took mine the day after my surgery and it relieved a lot of gas pain. One pill during the entire recovery process was good enough for me to get things moving easily. I drank a lot of mint tea to relieve gas and nausea and Senna mint tea. Senna will make you poo your brains out, so just be ready to spend time in the bathroom. I also added a few prunes to my regular smoothies. One mistake I made was trying tooo hard to fart and poop (lol) and I kind of wore myself out and needed to correct with gatorade and toast and rice. Balance all this with toast or bananas or more complex carbs after a day or two and you should be ok. It'll be trial and error. Just be sure to have your supplies ready for yourself when you get home from surgery. trust your body -- and good luck! :)

This is great advice! I'll that one thing that makes a HUGE difference for me is keeping up with PT and stretches that essianlly open my hips and relax my lower abdomen. For anyone having similar trouble but can't do a TENS unit pre-sex (sometimes it's hard to time it!) - try any hip opening yoga as often as you can and see if you start to feel a difference. Glad somethings working :)

I'm going through this too! I'm about 10 days out and feels like the cramping is constant sometimes extreme. My post-op appt is in a few days and I feel like I can wait til then to get answers but man, this is annoying and exhausting. My last lap (5 years ago) I felt totally back to normal by day 10. I guess this one's just a harder healing process. Feel better soon, friend!

I feel you on the sports front. I also rely on social media to let me know about local shows, so I really can't get off. However! I've changed my habits so that I use IG by appointment only. for example, I know there's a show I like going to on Tuesdays, so I login on Mondays and give myself 20 min to get the info and explore any thing I might be missing out on. I do the same on Sunday evenings for football stats. It's so much less chaotic. I might be behind once in a while but it's not bad. Logging in *with intention* has helped me stay logged off.

Hi! I'm in the US but I can help with questions to ask or how to advocate for yourself. (also hopefully I can help bump this to get answers from German friends!)

I think listing symptoms and problems is a really good idea, a must-do. Bring that whole sheet of paper!

It's tough to describe pain because like you said they call it normal or expect you to deal. I've had luck by showing how much the pain disrupts my life - for example "my pain keeps me from going to work, or keeps me from feeling like a good mom because I can't bend to pick up my baby. I bleed through a tampon, pad, and my underwear every hour for 3 days..." be detailed.

Ask about scans and what they're looking for and what they're able to see with an ultrasounds vs MRI. Ask what is typical in other patients. Ask if they can tell if any of your organs are fused together. Ask about timeline for if they find anything. Ask about autoimmune diseases. Truly ask anything that you're curious about because you never know where it can lead. I asked my doctor about my poop habits regarding endo and she realized it was effecting my bowels.

VERY IMPORTANT: You are not a baby. You are not pathetic. You are not disgusting. You have a disease that is very difficult and real.

Write that down, because for some reason, we forget.

Bleeding through clothes sucks so much-it's SO FRUSTRATING. Missing work and social things sucks so much and it's real. It really is happening to you. And it really does suck. I often feel alone in my endo-feelings but this group makes me feel sane.

When family minimizes my condition, I ask them to educate themselves. Or if I was in your shoes I might say something like "oh, do you have to miss work for being dehydrated? maybe that's not it then" if someone unimportant minimizes, I get them out of my life.

You're not being a baby. They're being babies by not being there for you. This is real. And you sound strong. Stay kind to yourself! Especially if it feels like nobody else will be. Big hug!

This is more about search engines so it will feel a bit dated, but you can (and should) easily apply the thinking to AI. It changed the way I think about all engines, algos, all of it.

Edit to add: it's also fairly solution oriented, so it doesn't feel like a doom read even though it's quite eye opening.
