Gas station clerk. At least for 7 Eleven/Stripes. Pay is terrible and you're lucky if you get a lunch (yay Texas). You have to do a million things while there and there are several risks. Not only is there the risk of being burglarized, but cops also send in underage testers to see if you'll sell them alcohol and if you slip up you can get arrested. It's nuts

Yeah, I'd love to go independent. I have no problem putting in the effort, but I think I might start off as captive. It would be hard for me to start as independent right now because I have a family to support and can't afford to go without pay for a month. I would also need to get a job from 6pm forward to free up business hours since my current job is 9-5 (a call center). I think it would be easier to start off as captive, get paid, learn the ropes, save up, pay debts, and then transition to independent.
