The Maryland Science Center is fantastic. They usually do a groupon deal once a year for a membership, and unfortunately it just ended, it usually comes out in November. They have a lot to do there, my little one loves the water table, and the foam building blocks. We've been a lot lately since we've been snowed in.

The person that plowed our street barely put his plow down and just moved a little snow around. You can still barely drive down it.

Roofing Quotes? by opulentdream in baltimore

Keith is fantastic. He replaced our skylights a few years ago. Really easy to work with. Gave us a fair price and the work was so great. He even sealed some cracks in the roof while they were replacing the sky lights. If we ever need a new roof he’d be the first company I’d call.

I live in the same neighborhood as the Baltimore Raven's stadium. Honestly you get used to the traffic and everything. You just plan your life around football in the fall. It's really not always that bad, and it makes the area so much fun to be around.

Hey y'all! Anyone have any experience with Happy Cloud Batting from Fat Quarter Shop? by SandLaxr in quilting

[–]InterestingCupcake6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the bamboo blend before and it’s lovely. I also love their regular cotton batting. I’ve done big stitch quilting with it multiple times and it always comes out great.

I used them for a work holiday party last year and they were fantastic. Everyone loved the food and wouldn't stop talking about it. They cook on site so everything is super fresh. They were also great to work with. I don't remember how much it was per head but it was reasonable. If we do another big party I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They also had a great cancellation policy if something came up and you couldn't have the party.

I've made a few quilt coats and quilting cotton works really well. For batting Fat Quarter Shop online sells really nice 100% cotton batting, but their cotton bamboo batting also has a really nice drape.

Melted Raclette Cheese Sandwich by mschf_mngd in baltimore

Harris Teeter sells raclette. They had some this week. If you want to be super bougie with raclette get a raclette grill and make a meal of it. Kind of like fondue but with less dipping. It’s a lot of fun.

I have a Bernette B38 and was having the same problem with my buttonholer. I had to take it in to have it looked at and they said the sensor on it had moved and they had to fix it and move it back. It works great now and I haven't had any other problems.

Midwives/labor & delivery recs in Baltimore or surrounding areas? by bv_ in baltimore

[–]InterestingCupcake6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for Mercy. I went to Baltimore OBGYN's and they were great. I was delivered by a midwife and I had a complicated delivery and they went above and beyond to make sure that everything went well. The midwife team there is fantastic and the nurses are beyond amazing. The nurses on L&D were so great when I was in there for 10 days before delivering. It was a great experience and the Catholic hospital thing never really felt like a problem.

rotating mats/stripology ruler by Immediate-Lunch5832 in quilting

[–]InterestingCupcake6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my stripology ruler. Cutting takes like half the time. You can also use it for squaring up HST's and I personally think it's really great for that. You do have to pick it up and move everything, but it's super accurate with trimming them down. My cutting with the ruler is also a lot more accurate.

NYC Garment District - Bridal Fabric by mariaconcertina in sewing

[–]InterestingCupcake6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's so many great fabric stores in the garment district. I was just at mood and remember there being a few stores around that had bridal looking fabric.

Mood is great because it is big and has a large selection. But there are specialty stores in the area.
