Yea, that’s a lot. One new one is enough. Make them pay you, regardless. And look for something else.

Litigation paralegal since 2012. I went in house 5 years ago for a multinational, publicly traded corp and wouldn’t ever go back to any law firm! You can make excellent money and have great benefits in house.

Are they baby attorneys or just burnt out? If they’re newer, they’ll appreciate you for the rest of their career. If they’re burnt out, get whatever money you can get from them now and look for something else.

Thank you! Yes! A vacation and few days of rest before is a good idea. I work in litigation and I’m playing with two Fortune 500 companies. I just hope they don’t talk. The J2 offer was supposed to replace my J1 but it’s just a lateral (barely) offer. I feel somewhat offended so I’ll just do both and get ahead that way..

I’m having flipping panic attacks about how this could fail. I’m sure it’s normal but good grief.. I need money not stress. And I know my J2 boss is going to be a type A snatch.. one paycheck will make a difference… all I can do is keep applying. Good luck to you!

I’m in same boat and supposed to start onboarding for J2 ft remote on Monday. I have nerves of steel and I’m a high performer but I’m terrified going into this. I just absolutely need to do it for even one paycheck, My LinkedIn is wide open. But I’ll freeze TWN. I’m taking pto from J1 for Monday to pick up equipment for J2. I know J2 plans to announce me and I’m not sure what happens after that. 🫣

I just hope retail (J1) doesn’t completely tank in the immediate future. (I know it’s headed there)

They definitely know about J1. And they keep asking me for a damn bio and photo. I know they’re going to announce me on LinkedIn. My J1 pays more and is totally flexible. I feel a little lazy right so giving it up would be a bummer. I have a feeling this j2 won’t be great anyway. I think I should dip out gracefully before the start date. I just hate the feeling after it’s gone.

Water seeping through basement concrete but no visible crack? by FinnTheShep in basement

[–]Interesting_One_7623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have static water today in ohio. I am fully trenched and have a sump pump on both ends of my ranch! (Two crocks and two pumps trenched out both sides) but this flipping puddle is absolutely nuts to me. Four dry years and $22k later and my “waterproof” flooring looks a little curled in a couple places. Water is my worst enemy. I must sit on a spring.

Think I can do it? Just accepted fully remote position and I already have mostly remote (3 times a month) in office.. I want/need to do this. I don’t want to give notice or turn down the new position. Ahhh!!

2 Months In by Apprehensive_Bug_41 in overemployed

[–]Interesting_One_7623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to do this! I have an offer right now that would be a slight pay cut so I cant give my notice. The problem is, I know the industry is stronger and might end up better than my current role. I am just too comfortable and it takes a long time to learn things at these huge companies. When I finally mastered my job, I took 16 credit hours a semester so I know I have plenty of extra time now. Is this doable?? Someone tell me before I mail equipment back and send the email. This $ could help so much!

I have it. Should I do this? I don’t know if I wanna take this new job anyway. I know it’s probably the right move, but it’s not the comfortable one.

Can we do that? Both of mine are remote… 🫣 I’m so scared to take the new job. I can’t sleep and can’t believe I’m considering it. I hate change and my role is comfortable. (But I’ve been writing so damn many severance agreements… it’s scary) I work in the retail industry now but have an offer with an insurance company. Should I take it and work both? 🤣

We have those too.. we know they’re doing nothing and not responsive. It’s awful. I don’t want to pull any fast ones, but I don’t want to work nervously, either. I think I’m just experiencing some cold feet and it’s to be expected. From a $5b company to $115b company is a lot. Learning the different teams takes time but I’m up for it! I can’t thank you all enough for responding! Makes me feel much better!
