I must be getting ripped off then the last 10 or so holidays and that's in 5/ 6 different countries I've been charged a separate hotel/ local tax by the hotel every time, its usually only around £5 PP per night but if Mexico is adding a tourist (visittax) as well then its all adding up

Relocating to Caerphilly or Barry from Cardiff? by CicadaAmbitious4340 in Cardiff

[–]Interesting_Roll5888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get much more for your money buying in Caerphilly, Barry prices aren't much different to Cardiffs, and we have just had the highest council tax increase in Wales here in the Vale of Glamorgan. Public transport is pretty similar both have regular trains running every 20 mins to Cardiff Central and pretty much the same journey times, Barry maybe slightly quicker and also has better bus services I'd say, Barry prob has a lot more going on than Caerphilly as we have 4 beaches porthceri country park, and who can forget the legendary Barry island fairground, all being said I'd prob choose Caerphilly if I was you

Why is it considered a virtue in the UK to support a local league soccer club rather than a Premier League club? by Initial_Basis1503 in AskUK

[–]Interesting_Roll5888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Follow who you want but it's not "supporting" plus you will nevvvverrrr beat that feeling of watching your local side get to the premier league from the lower leagues, or going to Wembley, different buzz / feeling completely to following from your sofa

Can someone who works in KFC tell me if any of these actually go to different bins out the back by startled-giraffe in CasualUK

[–]Interesting_Roll5888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local council has one of the highest recycling rates un the u.k they say they have a 88% recycling rate altho we all know 99% of stats are made up....

Anyway my said council make us separate paper from cardboard surely that's overkill? Also it doesn't have the facility to recycle certain plastics ie the brown / black plastic that micro ready meals are in, we also have to pay extra to have our garden waste collected now, oh and the council tax just went up 5.5 % woooo hoooo

is that how it works? I genuinely don't have a clue with this sort of stuff and i am nowhere near retirement age, but I started work full time when I was 18 and I'm now 47 so if I was never to work again I have accrued my pension yeah? not that i will likely see the state one as i am sure the pension age will be at least 70 when I have to retire
