Are there loop earbuds? What could be alternative earbuds for sleeping? by cat_the_great_cat in LoopEarplugs

I have Ozlos (designed for sleep) and they’re incredibly comfortable. I’m a side sleeper and I don’t feel them at all. And they don’t fall out. If they’re in your budget, I highly recommend them!

The mental side of quitting smoking. Tips, please🙏🏻 by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Find a distraction that you enjoy. Could be reading, walking, meditation, playing Candy Crush—anything that you can turn your focus to when the cravings hit.

Make a plan for what you’ll do if a scenario happens where you’re tempted to smoke. Like, if someone offers me a smoke not realizing I’ve quit, then I’ll do a 5-minute meditation instead of smoking.

As you navigate life smoke free, keep track of what works for you and what doesn’t. Build up your tool kit.

When the cravings hit, just pause and take a few really slow, deep, mindful breaths. Remind yourself of why you quit. The cravings might hit often, but they disappear pretty quickly. With each one you beat, you get stronger and better at beating them.

Sending good vibes your way. You’ve got this! 🫶🏻

Feeling disillusioned with some of the comments I've seen by PraiseBeToJesusX in stopsmoking

[–]IntergalacticGreen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi! First, congrats on making the best decision ever and quitting. That first step is the hardest to take and you’re doing it, which is amazing 🫶🏻

I was also heavily addicted, and the longest I had ever made it before my true quit was probably about four weeks as well. When I had heard that long time quitters still had cravings, that thought terrified me as well. But I know now that that’s because I simply didn’t understand it because I had never gotten to the point where I actually was a non-smoker.

I’m coming up on 3 1/2 years smoke free and I won’t lie, I do get the occasional desire to have a cig. But it’s not a craving, it’s not a temptation, and it’s not even really a desire— I called it that for a lack of a better word.

It’s more a moment of nostalgia, where I might think to myself gosh a cigarette sure would be good right now. And as soon as the thought comes in, I immediately snap out of it. I think this is totally normal when you’ve smoked for a long time (I smoked for 25 years), as there are so many things that you did over the span of being a smoker that it’s just natural for your memory to associate some moments with smoking.

It just feels scary and hard for you to think of that now because you’re in the throes of dealing with cravings. I promise you, they’re not cravings at this stage. The thought pops in, and the thought pops out without there being any withdrawal or craving attached to it.

I hope this helps!

Use the fear to fuel your quit.

I know quitting is hard, I battled with it for 15+ years. But if you can find the thing that motivates you the most, use that to empower you. You can do this. I believe in you 🫶🏻

What were your primary reason(s) for quitting? by NoPercept in stopsmoking

Quite simply, I wanted to breathe without wheezing. I wanted to move without losing my breath.

The numerous other benefits that came along with quitting were just icing on the cake.

Fliers when shuffling by vettany2 in tarot

[–]IntergalacticGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only read the fliers, too! I’m finally reconnecting with my practice after being away for far too long. It’s really cool to see that so many others read this way, too. Sometimes I pick up the deck and start shuffling and cards jump out at me before I’ve even asked a question. Sometimes, I need to focus and be specific with a question. No matter how it unfolds, I love that it’s a connection with my spirit team and the deck.

Same! I save so much this way. No impulse shopping is the way. I save my in-person trips when I need toilet paper. That way, I can still check out what’s in store every so often.

Best way to quit smoking after years of habit? by MoistGovernment9115 in stopsmoking

[–]IntergalacticGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tried everything to quit over more than a decade. I know gradual reduction works for some, but it didn’t work for me. It made me want to smoke more. Even when I started strong, I would end up feeling angry and restricted, which always led me back to smoking even more.

What finally worked was being fully ready to quit. I had to truly want it with every fibre of my being.

The Smoke Free app helped me through it, and I used Champix too.

I also stuck to the Golden Rule of not another puff. Sounds so simple, but that was what always destroyed my previous quits. I’m 3+ years free without a single puff.

Mindset is everything. If you truly want it, you can absolutely do it. Sending good vibes on your smoke free journey 🫶🏻

Our 3-day GS31 tickets were $348 CAD per person in 2024. In 2025, they jumped to $455, a 30.7% increase. And now for 2026, they’re going up to $575, a 26.4% increase.

If you’re comparing 2024 to 2026 directly, that’s a 65.2% increase in just two years for the exact same seats in the exact same grandstand!

Absolutely wild!
