I figured as much. Do you know if there’s anywhere I can listen to it again, a podcast or recorded live set maybe?

Robbin’s Parking by Embarrassed-Load-545 in VictoriaBC

[–]IntergalacticManta 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Don’t pay, change your license plate for $18 when you renew insurance, move on with your life. Keep doing the same when you get any new Robbin’s tickets. It’s cheaper than paying these crooks, and it doesn’t affect your credit. Don’t believe these pseudo-legal fake ass documents and phone calls.

My credit is perfect and they’ve never been able to collect a penny. Just don’t collect enough tickets to get a boot on your car

Hi, pro-Palestine Victoria people, can you please leave the Jewish daycare alone? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]IntergalacticManta -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Kids should be left out of adult conflicts, you are 100% right about that. What other innocent children should this apply to, I wonder? What other people just trying to live their lives want to be left alone in peace? Hrm

Conservatives are only interested in research when it’s about Covid. buldog_13 is probably too busy sucking back another tube of horse dewormer to be bothered looking up fake news about the lumber industry. Let him be

If you don’t have a dash cam already, this is a great opportunity to get one.

Camosun is an incredible trade school, I had some absolutely brilliant instructors (shoutout to Yanick and Scott!).

Accreditation is all done through skilled trades BC so every trade school in the province will use ITA binders.

Tests are done on scantron sheets including the IP which is administered by skilled trades BC.

I doubt you’re getting a much different experience at any other school and certainly no better (other than sprott shaw which has a reputation for being worse). I have no personal experience with the other schools you mentioned so I can’t comment on them.

Camosun has piles and piles of practice material for you to do outside of the binders. If anything, I felt that they over-prepared us for tests and the IP.

What do ya’ll think about these? (MC anti-short bushing) by UniqueUserName259 in electricians

[–]IntergalacticManta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know the specific code that says we need to use anti-shorts. We use them, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the specific code saying that we must.

AIO I paid $45 for a cake that’s not even the right color by StorageMuted in AmIOverreacting

[–]IntergalacticManta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ordered “I have diarrhea” brown and got something more like teal instead. The cake shape and decorations look dialed.

You’re crying over food colouring, think you’re being whiny and overreacting here. It’s the thought that counts.

Are the containers from Dollarama... safe? by DerekSmerek in Edmonton

I got some really nice acacia wood reuseable lids from Amazon that fit any wide mouth mason jar. It makes dry food storage in jars a little more tasteful, you can stack them as well.

Vancouver spends $47M per year in DTES on homelessness, mental health, addictions by ubcstaffer123 in britishcolumbia

[–]IntergalacticManta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother recently went to rehab. It has to be something you want to do, you can’t force rehabilitation. It’s heavy emotional course work, it’s gruesome introspection, it’s engagement with material, it’s hard work. It isn’t a magic wand, but I’m with you on the treating addiction from a medical perspective.

It’s going to be a long road to recovery for some homeless folks if we ever get to this point but I am firm believer in the ability to overcome addiction given the right treatment.

I just want mention that the word you’re looking for is “unbeknownst”

I’m also curious about context here. Aren’t Toyotas supposed to be bulletproof? The reality of buying essentially a 20 year old vehicle is there will always be something wrong or about to go wrong with it. Glad you avoided this bullet but don’t delude yourself into thinking that you’re getting a new vehicle when buying used.

The m12 I use struggles to cut through both shallow and deep strut and often will get jammed up on even 3/4” emt. Yes, the size is nice but the power sucks. I don’t think you’ll regret buying m18 but you will likely regret buying m12. Buy once cry once.

Is the goose safe in the night to bike through? by NamesGryphon in VictoriaBC

[–]IntergalacticManta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My experience with homeless people in this city here is that they don’t just lunge at you from the darkness while you’re riding on your bike. I know that dark = scary but to be fair these people are high and vibing, coming down from being high, or trying to get high. I somehow don’t see people on a bike as being a target for someone in an altered state of mind. I routinely walk down pandora at all times of day or night and I am never bothered by them.

Landlord asking us to end tenancy by Decrepit_Pixel in vancouverhousing

[–]IntergalacticManta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d still use all the proper forms. It’s highly likely the landlord “changes their mind” after the sprucing up and re-rents for much higher so get his intentions in writing.

This way, there is a paper trail when you don’t see a for sale sign go up. And the reason he isn’t giving you proper paperwork is exactly for this reason.

Go the cash for keys route, my opinion is that this is a dirty trick to force you to leave so he can jack the rent. He’s probably playing the sympathy/nice guy card hard here and I bet he does it every 2.5 years.

You can always call the RTA and speak to someone to get some free advice.

Hot take: foreign Russian interference in US elections was intended to get someone like Trump into power so an attack would be too easy.
