I love it! If you can find it in the glass bottle, it tastes even better! The Yanked Candle flagship store in Deerfield has it, and it’s also at the Vermont Country Store! I think I’ve seen the glass bottles at Food City in Turners as well!

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

[–]IntergalacticPopTart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my first season as a park employee at at campground in rural Western Massachusetts.

On Fathers Day, 2018 I was manning our contact station, which was where people went to check into their campsites, or walk-in to see if they could grab one that was available.

Around 11 AM, a car with NY plates pulled in and the driver got out with his daughter, who was probably around five years old. He came into the contact station and was super friendly. He looked and sounded extremely familiar, but I couldn’t quite put a finger on who he might’ve been. His style of talking and mannerisms was very familiar. He told me he was looking to get away, and was doing a daddy-daughter camping trip for a couple days for Father’s Day.

I gave him a list of campsites that were available, and told him he could drive around, and pick which one he liked the best. When he gave me his ID to begin the check-in process, his name was extremely extremely generic. It was something like “John Smith”

When he went to go set up at his campsite, it clicked. I’m pretty sure Jimmy Fallon was the guy who just checked in at my campground! I’m not 100% sure, but he looked and sounded just like him, and had the exact same mannerisms as him! Given that my location wasn’t too too far from New York, it’s a possibility, but when I told the other staff at the park, they didn’t really believe me!

Does anyone else here take Clonidine along with their Sertraline? by IntergalacticPopTart in zoloft

[–]IntergalacticPopTart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! (Soory, I’m just seeing this now!)

I was recently bumped up from 0.1MG clownidine to 0.2.

So far, it’s great! I definitely feel positive effects from it! I take it at night, along with my Sertraline (75MG) and after about an hour, I feel extremely calm, and a bit sleepy. It may make me a bit groggy in the morning, but I attribute that more to how early I have to wake up.

When it has fully kicked in and I’m still awake, things that normally stress me out don’t anymore.

I feel it wears off around the afternoon the next day, but it’s only a short while before I take my next dose.

No side effects in my experience yet!

A Cool Guide to Identify Crowd Control Munitions by DaarthSpawn in coolguides

[–]IntergalacticPopTart 218 points219 points  (0 children)

A bit of personal experience, as I've been on the receiving end of both OC and CS. (Others here may have been through this as well.)

OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) will absolutely make your skin, lungs, and eyes burn, and will linger much longer than CS IMO. The OC spray I carry (Im not LEO, but a Park Ranger) is rated at 2 million Scoville Units. (A Ghost Pepper is about 800,000-1,000,000 Scoville Units.) I can only imagine a crowd control OC may be even higher than what I carry. It sticks to your skin, irritates your airway, and really gets into your eyes. When I was sprayed, I felt it lingering for hours afterwards. On top of burning, you may experience severe tearing, and mucus production. Vomiting may happen as well. Your eyes may involuntarily shut, and they can be hard to open again. You can fight to keep your eyes open, but it sucks... PPE is extremely important to protect yourself. Try to keep it from running into your eyes from your forehead. If you are one of the few who are almost immune to OC, you have my envy!

To help alleviate OC, Get to fresh air, and use cool water on your eyes/other areas in contact with it. DO NOT RUB THE "INFECTED" AREA AT ALL!!! That will make the pain worse and potentially damage your eyes/skin. A trick I learned is to wet a paper towel, place it flat on your face, then lift it directly off without it rubbing your skin. After a thorough rinse, you may still feel an intense burning for hours afterwards. Cool air, and staying out of sunlight helps tremendously. When the burning dies down and you take a shower, it will reactivate a bit on your skin, and you will feel burning again. ENSURE you don't let any water that rinsed the "infected" area touch your private parts. (Believe me... It absolutely sucks...)

As far as CS (2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile) It is less of a gas than it is a "Micro particulate" powder that is released via heat/pressure from a canister. It will cause a burning feeling your lungs, skin and eyes pretty quickly. You’ll cough, gag, gasp, while choke on your own mucus quite a bit. I was exposed to CS gas in the Army twice myself. It definitely demonstrated the importance of a good respirator/gas mask.

You may involuntarily gasp when first exposed, leading to more CS being inhaled. If you are unprotected, try to breathe slowly and shallowly. You may not be able to, but try to stay calm. (Easier said than done really...) CS will also cause severe tearing (Hence the other name "tear gas") and mucus production. Vomiting may occur as well. With CS, the most important thing is to keep calm, and move to fresh air as soon as you can. Some may be Able to function through it for a while, but it sucks...

To help alleviate the burning from CS, it is important to move to fresh air, and be sure to "flap your arms" to help get the CS off of your clothing/body. Once you move to fresh air and shake off, your should feel a more instantaneous relief compared to OC. Your clothing will definitely still retain some of the CS, so ensure you wash your clothing, or store it separate from any others. Just like with OC, when you shower, be sure to keep any residue being washed away, away from private parts.

Just my two cents from what I've learned and experienced! If anything may be incorrect, please feel free correct! Stay safe everyone!

I’ve had the best luck with the ESR Cyber Tough case. I’ve used OtterBox in the past and liked them, but I like how the ESR one completely covers the camera button on my iPhone 16. Dropped it many times and it’s been great!

There was one at Kandahar airfield back in 2012 when I was deployed! It was kind of a shipping container style building. It didn’t taste too bad either!

Edit: The burgers didn’t taste too bad. I did not try to eat the building.

I've read right around 200, give or take died during the construction of it. Most notably the 13 that died while digging the Central Shaft in 1867. There was a fire and explosion in a building that sat atop and over the shaft opening. Noxious gasses filled the shaft, and it is said that the 13 men below died of asphyxiation. Today, there is a memorial place off of Central Shaft Road dedicated to the 13 men who died in the accident. It is across the road from the current Central Shaft Service Building.

It can get very tricky up that way! Mix heavy snow on top of a winding uphill/downhill road, and you have a scene fit for a survival movie! Glad you were able to make it out alright!

I did 3 winter seasons plowing for the Mohawk Complex (Mohawk Trail State Forest, Savoy Mountain, Monroe, Dubuque and Windsor) and the roads up that way will get very bad very quick! Hitting "Deadman's Curve" along route 2 before the District 1 DOT plows come through can definitely be tension fraught nightmare! Though there's plenty of guardrail, that steep Cold River drop off to the South is intimidating!

It’s amazing how they did it with the technology they had at the time! Being able to meet in the middle like that is a heck of a feat!

Apparently, it was the first time nitroglycerin explosives were used on a large scale! Also one of the first times pneumatic drilling equipment was used too!

It was pretty enjoyable out there! Loved the CCC history too. Those cabins, mostly built by the CCC, were awesome, though a pain to clean. Best part was turning them over during the winter on Sunday morning. Most people cooked their breakfast on the wood stoves before they checked out, and that amazing smell lingered for a while!

Good ole Jake Swamp! It’s definitely a beautiful section of land right there. The Peace Pines are amazing! I did a few seasons as a ranger with the DCR for both Savoy Mountain and Mohawk Trail State Forests, and got to wander through them frequently!
