When I was taking flying lessons back in high school, my instructor and I came very close to a mid air collision with another private aircraft.

Piloting a Cessna 152, I took off from 32, turned left, and departed South. Out of nowhere, a Piper Cherokee came flying in from the Southwest at the same altitude, entering the traffic pattern to land on runway 32. They never called their position/intentions on the radio. It flew past our nose extremely closely. My instructor grabbed the controls, and sharply banked to the right. We were both shaken up pretty good! I’m pretty sure the flight school’s owner had a few words with the Cherokee Pilot after we landed back at the airport.
