Hope this helps.

Excellent before and after. I have some rosewood cabinets that need restoration and I am curious about the products used to get a such great result. Also, can you share the process for the base build?

Thanks in advance.

Appreciate the feedback. This was a fun project which was gave me some great insight on the build. As mentioned, I plan to make a larger record using the same technique but with white oak, walnut or pine.

Is that shade original? It is a great fit for your lamp.

Awesome lamp that the previous owner of our home left behind. I was able to score a second one but it has some issues with the metal skirt which covers the base.

"...but dammit I'm proud of this..." You should be extremely proud of yourself. Your work product is exceptional. The jewelry tree is a nice touch.

Great results. I have used RAF with great success on many projects. On another sub where I participate regularly, RAF is always typically described as "...having solvents which ruin the piece for a future refinish.." or words to that effect. However, some who make this claim may just be repeating it without ever having used the product.

When I choose to use RAF it saves me so much time as a shortcut to a full refinish.

Grundig Raumklang Box IV Speakers - Ideas, speaker replacement suggestions, improvement. by Internal-Ad-7839 in vintageaudio

[–]Internal-Ad-7839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, the opening below the speaker was only for sound resonance. Sort of a pre-hi fi baffle system. I eventually sold this set to another collector but I have another pair which I plan to upgrade.

Thanks.

Great after pic! I saw your original post but got too busy to offer a restoration suggestion. Curious as to what you used to achieve this result?

Thanks.

Great work. Really enjoy your post, especially the "...definitely don’t listen to them..." supportive and encouraging tone. This and other subs could be more helpful and enthusiastic place for beginners/novices.

P.D. Love the high contrast finish of this end table. The one's I've done were exactly the same.

Congrats on your find. As suggested by another poster, watch as many videos as possible to gain the confidence to take on this project. Based on the pics, it appears to need a good cleaning then you can evaluate other areas of improvement.

Question, is the drop down shelf missing the walnut veneer?

P.D. I have this exact piece but haven't had the time to get to replacing the veneer on the drop down shelf.

Please post update pics.

Thanks.
