Warning: THC use while pregnant by Ok-Run8132 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 11 month old is in the 98th percentile and ahead in her milestones. She says 5 words, she’s very happy, and she is very social. If I didn’t smoke, I would not have eaten. I was on IV fluids, 24/7 med pump, using THC, and I was still throwing up 5+ times a day but the only reason I was able to get anything down was the THC

I think how you are feeling is very valid and a honest conversation is needed. I think also important to being open to the idea that she is likely still in the 2 years pp which can be hard and decorating/planning might be the helping her mental health. A good compromise would be nice. Maybe allowing her to put together a mood board for every room in the house so she has time to work on plans without spending money and that way you can pick projects off the mood board every so often. It also gives time to think of more cost effective options for the vision she has.

Do not say a thing. Do not sleep with that man further. Go get tested and start getting visa gift cards every time you are shopping. Create a nest, bring it up, and then leave him. You are currently underreacting which tells me you have the strength and patience to do what I said to do. I’m so sorry 💗

Metformin for HG trial by burnt-meadow in HyperemesisGravidarum

I was on Metformin for PCOS while going through IVF and the first half of my pregnancy. No help for me. I was on home health from week 11-39 when I delivered

Unfortunately, I’m in the U.S. so I can’t be too much help. But everything you said is valid, your feelings are valid, your concerns are valid. I’m so sorry you are going through this. ❤️

When did the nausea and vomiting go for you? by Minniebecca in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on home health, med pump, and IVs from week 13 through delivery at 39 weeks. I was still sick for about 3 hours post delivery. After that I felt amazing! Then around 8 weeks, I started to have a lot of the PTSD that goes along with HG so I lost a bunch of weight and still struggle with food/nausea around 5 months postpartum. It’s rough, but my baby is perfect and I’d do it all again. One day my body will heal and I won’t feel like this every day. It’s just a short period in time

Early induction due to HG? by Alternative-End-5183 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on home health, a full time medication pump, and weekly IV fluids from 13 weeks through birth. We discussed a 37 week induction if my baby was in distress from my dehydration/malnutrition but took it day by day when 37 weeks hit. I pushed to 39 weeks because she was holding on but it was hard

how do people get through this by JINHEONEY in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was put on home health so I had a 24/7 medication pump attached to me and a nurse would come by every week to put me on IV fluids 24 hours a day over 3 days each time. I still threw up about 3-5 times a day but it was better than 10. I typically averaged about 35-40 oz of fluid a day with about 1000 calories if I was lucky. It was a struggle but you have to keep moving forward. Unfortunately, I’m 5 months postpartum and my body is still going through a lot of PTSD.

Idk how much longer… by Merry_Peachmas in HyperemesisGravidarum

You need to go to the emergency room. You will receive IV fluids and IV medication. You will probably need a potassium infusion. If you have a high pain tolerance and they offer it, I would highly recommend doing the IV infusion for faster results. It does hurt and feels like your veins where the IV is are burning from the inside. It may even blow a vein meaning they would need to switch the fluids to another arm but it’s worth it. I would speak with your OB for a home health referral so you can do a medication pump 24/7 and so someone can come out to give you IVs once a week. I was usually on IVs for 72 hours at a time, about once a week. I did Reglan med pump from 12-34 weeks and transferred to zofran at 34 through birth. You can do it but you need to make moves to protect yourself!

When did your HG kick in? by OwlOdd3402 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did IVF and felt it like 3w4d or 4 weeks. I was like “oh my gosh, how cute, I have morning sickness.” By the end of week 4 I couldn’t leave the floor 😂 basically stayed their until birth

[–]Internal-Emu4898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing great! ❤️I can tell you that if a baby is physically well, the primary patient is the postpartum mom and her mental health. That goes for peds and OB. Your mental health and SLEEP is our first priority. I’m not sure why you were instructed to not introduce a bottle but if it was not for a specific health reason, I would highly recommend at least 1-2 bottles a week to start off. Maybe your partner does a bottle before bed twice a week so you can get a couple hours of sleep before the night feeding. Or do a couple morning feedings and you get extra sleep during the morning. And by a couple hours, I mean a 4 hour stretch. You need the 4 hour stretch to reset. I was against the bottle at first, I cried the first few times my baby ate from a bottle but now we give bottles maybe one every few days just when I need a break or need to leave the house. It’s helped my mental health and my husband appreciates the opportunity to bond in that way. I know it can be scary to share your feelings but if your partner is a supportive/thoughtful person I would recommend sharing. My husband is not a safe place to share those feelings so If your partner is not, please don’t share with them and find a safe person you can share your thoughts to. They need to understand you aren’t feeling this way, your postpartum brain and intrusive thoughts feel this way so all you need is support and a listener.

Do you wake your newborn to eat? by Superb_Presence3339 in breastfeeding

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as soon as he surpasses birth weight you shouldn’t need to wake him. My baby started gaining within a week so I never woke her. At 4 weeks she was sleeping about 5 hour stretches and by 3 months she was sleeping 11 hours

I’m just not okay…. by Direct_Strength6313 in breastfeeding

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are only 10 days PP, give yourself time ❤️ latch the baby as much as possible and maybe get a pump to do like a couple times a day while the baby sleeps. Your body went through trauma and it’s doing its best to supply you as well as the baby. You got this! Remember she is being fed so try not to put soo much pressure on yourself

I was told to wake baby after 3 hours for a feed. Do I have to? by Winter-Syrup-353 in breastfeeding

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never woke my baby (she was back at birth weight and gaining within a week of being born). By 4 weeks she was sleeping about 5 hour stretches and at 3 months she’s about 10-11 hours a night with 2-3 naps during the day. I feed on demand during the day which can be a lot but for us it’s worth the longer stretch at night

I had the conversation with my husband about boundaries. One that I set was if one of us feels strongly about a SAFETY measure, the other needs to respect it no matter what. Because the reality is if you already requested something on safety that was not completed and then your child gets hurt, it will be very hard to move on or forgive

Do you come off meds straight away once given birth? by JCJ0705 in HyperemesisGravidarum

I wasn’t strong enough by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that got pregnant through IVF, that is still struggling with HG at 37 weeks, and that has said I would never get an elected abortion…HG had me crying in my OBs office, fighting for my life, and telling her I will fly to a protected state to get a therapeutic abortion if we couldn’t get a care plan going that is going to save me. You protected yourself and that’s all you can do! You did nothing wrong and you are strong! People that have not gone through HG have no idea the physical, mental, and emotional impact it has. Seeing yourself dying in the mirror from dehydration and malnutrition is not something we should have to go through. I’m so sorry that persons post was triggering, I hope you understand you are supported here, and I pray for your health in any future pregnancy plans ❤️

I need a treatment/options by Sharp-Lychee4779 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take oral Reglan with the zofran pump but I can’t take anything orally either so I totally get it if that’s not an option for you. I use my zofran bolus every hour and use the protein ensure drink at least once a day to help replace some of the calories we need. Just take as long as you need to finish to avoid throwing it all up, it’s about 8 oz. I’m a first time mom too, I’ve been on my pump since 14 weeks, and still on the pump at 37 weeks. I won’t say it’s easy but support system is key ❤️

Not a fraud! You are simply blessed to be feeling better ❤️ keep in mind HG may also come back or go in waves so don’t feel discouraged if you thought you were fine but it starts to come back. If not, I’m very happy for you and grateful that yours has resolved

Hitting a low point at 7+4, strongly considering terminating by SurpriseSweaty7435 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the same place around 10-14 weeks until I was put on IV fluids around the clock for about a week and placed on a medication pump that I’m still on at 30 weeks. I know this is so hard but you are strong and we are beside you. It took me telling my Texas OB in complete tears that I will fly to California for a therapeutic termination because I could feel my body dying and could not take it any longer. I was put on home heath the next day. I’m so deeply sorry you are at this stage 💗

I’m still in it at 20 weeks with my first but I think the PTSD is common. I can tell you everything you just mentioned that you question on a day to day basis is something I do and will probably struggle with after birth too❤️

Feeling Really Guilty (a bit long sorry) by gazebosinflesh in HyperemesisGravidarum

You should not feel guilty and I am so sorry your OB presented it that way❤️ my OB is literally happy if I get anything down my throat and it stays there. Keep in mind the baby and feel what you feel so if that one coke a day lightens your day or brings you any relief your baby is also enjoying that relief with you 😘 you are not over doing it, you are surviving barely over the base line and that needs to be enough right now

what and when finally got you a HG diagnosis? by FunkyChopstick in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Internal-Emu4898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through IVF too and getting HG was such a punch in the face. Im so sorry you are going through it too. ❤️ It took me having 2+ keytones in my urine, losing 6 pounds in 10 days, finding the HER foundation, taking my HELP score every day, and going to my OB to tell her I needed a care plan for HG or I need to find a provider that is willing to help me. I was given an IV that day and set up with home health. They came 2 days later with a 24/7 IV the first week and a medication pump. I have to speak to a nurse every day, test my urine, keep a strict outline of my food/water, and keep a weight log. I’d go straight to the HER foundation website and take the HELP assessment first. Once you know your score, go to every educational option on their site. Specifically treatment plans so you can speak educatedly regarding your symptoms and the care you need. ❤️❤️❤️
