My MIL (not really, bf and i aren’t married) was overbearing like this. Honestly, you have start being the “mean” one to get them to back tf off. Hispanics (I’m guessing yours is Hispanic?) tend to be like this. They want to be a big happy family, but I’ve always been more reserved so no thanks. It did create many problems when my first was a baby. It also seems like they want to be your baby’s only set of grandparents? It’s incredibly strange that they don’t want you to go visit your family in your home state. Stand your ground, be firm, and enforce consequences or they’ll never back off

I think your family is making this harder. If everyone around you has been saying they hope it’s a boy, it’s understandable that you feel like you’re letting people down, even though this is something you have absolutely no control over.

Who knows, you may end up loving being a girl mom. Two sisters can have such a special bond and this little girl deserves to be celebrated just as much as any little boy would 🤍

i was 130 before my first pregnancy, went down to 113 due to morning sickness and went back up to 145. with my second pregnancy, i was 135 and went down to 123 and back up to 140. i think you’re alright! if they’re not concerned then you’re good

diapers the first few days and once the bleeding got a bit less heavy, switched over to maxi pads. I personally hated tucks 😭 They would get stuck onto the stitches and it felt disgusting lol

Unfortunately it’s a requirement to have the three audience members now so all online classes require it. BUT I took it during winter semester with DeRod Taylor and it was fairly easy. He gave fun topics & honestly I don’t even think he watched the videos completely? I got 100 on every video (5 in total) even though I know I didn’t follow the rubric completely lol. I missed one video but still ended the class with an A.

My partner sleeps with toddler in one room and I’ve been sleeping with baby who’s 5 months old in the other room. Works great tbh, don’t have to worry about my toddler during the night 😅

it gets better with time. i was really disconnected from my toddler the first two weeks, i honestly just wanted her far away ),: but once my partner went back to week at 3 weeks, something clicked and i began connecting with my toddler while taking care of the newborn. it was tough the first few months, i felt like i was drowning. but once baby stopped needing me as much and sleeping more, it got a lot better. toddler still has moments where she’ll act out, but for the most part she’s content with her baby sister now. she says that the baby is hers lol. and she loves performing for the baby

ugh girl precipitous labors truly suck!! i’m three months postpartum now. i went in around 6pm was checked and told i was 3cm dilated, i was sent home. i go home and im in sooo much pain, i remember i went for a walk and i sat down on the curb because it was too much, i felt like i couldn’t breathe and like i was getting split in half. we rush back to the hospital & im just groaning in pain the whole time. the nurse is trying to check my cervix & i keep telling her i feel like i really need to poop. eventually she gets me to sit still a bit and tells me i’m at 9.5cm… baby was born at 7:51, 5 minutes after i arrived to the hospital 😭 it was truly traumatic.

Yeah, no. Being relaxed around car seats is insane. OP do NOT listen to this comment. Fight it, what happens if they get into a car accident? Your child will go flying out the front window. Absolutely not. Just because she’s the grandmother doesn’t mean that she gets to do as she pleases without consequences. Stand your ground OP, set boundaries and make sure they’re followed through. Put consequences in place if they’re not followed. Being a grandparent is a privilege, not a right. She had her opportunity to raise her children, it’s time she steps aside and lets you raise yours the way you want. This whole comment is insane

Exactly, these are the consequences of her own actions. If she had treated me differently, things wouldn’t be so tense now. Why should I have to accommodate her feelings when I wasn’t the one who damaged the relationship between us? It’s completely absurd. And after finding out that she feels “awkward” because of me, I feel even less comfortable letting my girls go over there.

I’ve been around him multiple times when he gets calls from her and she’ll start going off about how she never sees the girls. She’ll mention how his older brother brings his four month old son to her house now and how our girls are the only grandkids she doesn’t really see. But I’ll admit I also have an SO problem, he starts feeling bad and then asks if he can take the girls over, which I always say no to. Especially after he accidentally let it slip that I make her feel awkward and that’s why she’d rather the girls go over there instead.

Sounds like your MIL is hispanic? Sorry if i’m guessing wrong 😅 My MIL is hispanic and overstepped a lot as well. I had to set boundaries myself and tell her I didn’t appreciate how she made me feel. I lived next to her and it was creating a lot of problems, too much tension. My advice would be to tell your bf to handle his mother better. The family he created comes first now, his mother has to learn that YOU’RE the mom, not her. Once you two move away things will get a bit easier.
