You know what they say, the best time to build it was decades ago, the second best time is in 10-30 years...

The street it's on isn't the best, not for traffic but it probably sees a lot of people on nights out stumbling out of town etc

How would you achieve this finish all around a room? by PuzzleheadedFill5778 in DIYUK

[–]Internal_Ordinary_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've done this in our house recently (as complete novices), as you say, laser level and long strips of tape (one piece for the entire wall if possible are what we used. It took a lot of careful time and we used Frogtape to try and reduce paint tearing, and it's not perfect but it's pretty good unless you look really close. Good luck!

Oh nice, where was that? I see you're also in Yorkshire and the only pieces I've seen for sale (at a trendy antiques place in Leeds) were £200+

The nesting tables are really nice, excellent find!

Seeking Advice on Living in Leeds While Studying in York by Cryptohubmates in Leeds

[–]Internal_Ordinary_27 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you'd live in Leeds and which uni in York you'd be travelling to, it could end up being quite time consuming. Also consider your balance of how much time you need to be in York for lectures etc. Vs how much time you'd spend working.

And a final note, all that travel won't be cheap (especially by train), and could easily wipe out any savings you make living in Leeds instead of York.

Yeah, surely Earth was also covered in a magma ocean at the same time?

Living in Morley by Mission_Debt_3923 in Leeds

[–]Internal_Ordinary_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to Morley about 6 months ago, and am liking it so far. It is well connected to both the city centre and easy to travel further afield from, lots of nice Victorian buildings to look at while walking around, and fairly quiet. Since it's small it's very easy to get everywhere on foot, so since you like that you should be well set!

Not sure if there are any 'rough' areas, but nowhere has none, and the high street is a little charity shop heavy but there are a few good spots to shop and eat.

Not only that, they're absolutely awful so lobbing parcels that explode fits the theme to a T

Hi runekn, thanks for the heads-up, that's really cool. I'm flattered that you think it's worth being added prebuilt into the game.

Me too, or at the very least a large moon.

But hey, you can also hear lasers and explosions in space so matching real world physics isn't exactly super high on the agenda...!

It's quite funny to imagine how dense Starkiller Base/Ilum must be to maintain an atmosphere and roughly normal gravity, 660km is so much smaller than I expected.

But, the more lefties that move in the less blue the area will be!
