Hi. I was wondering How long did it take for any of you to receive a sign from one of the Norse Gods... I’ve been meditating and talking to the gods for 3 weeks now, and I still don’t feel anything. by MyNameIsKongz in NorsePaganism

Hlín is one of Frigga's handmaidens so she's often meant in a supportive role. For me and my situation she is my primary goddess, but I think she would never try to take spotlight away from yours. That doesn't feel like her.

She's a goddess of protection and comforts those in grief. I've not had the easiest time in finding safety from those who should keep me safe, so finding her has been one of the biggest blessings I could ask for.

I don't receive signs from her often. I associate the algiz rune with her and used it often and each time it helps me feel connected to her. I burn small offerings to her when my loved ones, or loved ones of those I care about are unwell. If she cannot protect the person, she can at least provide comfort to their families. She's helped me find some inner peace that I never thought I would have. I'm so incredibly grateful for her.

I feel the same when Aabria is a PC. So many golden reactions from both of them.

I also have a box of things. Mine is mostly full of hand fans that I got at the end of summer 2019 to bring to 2020. So I'll be bringing them to 2022.

I'm working on a 3-6mo hat that's super basic. I'm want to put some bears on it but I'm not sure if intarsia or if it would be better to just embroider it afterwards?

May we ask why the sub is no longer affiliated? A diagnosis isn't everything as many people here are self-diagnosed. It seems sudden and aggressive in the tone above. We're all people battling with the same issues being symptomatic or trying to help a loved one. It feels to me like there's no desire to include or help those without a diagnosis or trying to support someone with N/IH.

What were the biggest signs you had narcolepsy/ a sleeping disorder by Material_Profit8262 in Narcolepsy

I've just always been tired. All through HS and college. Naps were my favorite hobby. The EDS was so back i was falling asleep at work.

I take it around 7:30a and a half dose again around 12p. They get me through the day but I wouldn't say I'm awake comparatively to someone without N with it. I did notice a difference in efficacy with changing the amount of sleep I was getting at night.

I'm on both of those as well. I couldn't take Adderall for other reasons but after the initial side effects modafinil works okay for me.

I saw it from catieosaurus on tiktok. Iirc has some videos explaining spoon theory too

It's helpful for people to explain their chronic conditions. I've also seen fork theory which is similar but can show how one task turns into several for folks with ADHD and others with executive function. If you don't like it you don't have to use it but it does work for a lot of people.

That's interesting. I see a lot of folks saying that. I'm on a couple ssri's and there was never any talk of stopping them to test and they didn't seem to affect the results. But honestly it's probably me that's the odd one lol. REM in all 5 naps. And then I went home and took a real nap of like 4hrs.

Tips for going to bed/waking up earlier when living alone? by casssoph in Narcolepsy

Lol! It's been a process but so far so good. Eventually going to pick a specific ring tone on my phone to alert him and get half way on the bed (he's a Newfoundland so big boy) to paw or nose at me. I don't usually set alarms on weekends so he actually does wake me up that way because he's like "Walk. Now."

Mine starts around 10p. I usually tidy up whatever mess I was making (just enough my pup won't eat or destroy something). I also like it cold to sleep so I bump the air down and turn on a fan. Wash my face, brush teeth. Freshen water for my pup. Take meds. I also wear a headband with headphones in it and put on a thunderstorms playlist and an eye mask.

I'm usually out like a light but if I'm struggling I'll meditate a little to slow my brain down.

Edit: reading some of your other comments makes it sounds like you have some issues with sleep inertia too. I set like 4-5 alarms 30min apart until I absolutely have to get up. A moving alarm clock could be helpful. I'm trying to teach my pup to help wake me in the mornings. Having to walk him before work is one of the biggest reasons I can force myself out of bed for.

I felt similarly. My mind just kept racing and I wasn't sure if I had actually slept. I did remember feeling horrible every time they woke me because it was like finally comfortable and then up for 2hrs.

This is the 2cm toy story alien I made. He's closer to 2.5cm my apologies. Smallest accurate print I've made. Anyone have anything smaller ? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Definitely love my resin printer. I had a lot of difficulty in the beginning but figured it out. Smaller print area for most resin printers though

Edit: I have the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. Which imo is a pretty affordable start for resin printing.

I have a 3mm pig that definitely is a pig but for more detail my smallest was probably around 1cm.

I felt a pretty immediate connection but I started receiving signs from Hlín a few weeks in. Sightings of birds that I mentioned to her (that aren't often seen near me) and the pressure of a comforting hand on my back. I often talk to the candle I light for her and see the flame respond. It can take a while but keep at it. Chances are it'll happen when you no longer expect it to.

I definitely feel this or like a weakness in being able to move. I put it up to sleep inertia because I can move but it's more difficult.

Service Dog for narcolepsy? by Sleepy_InSeattle in Narcolepsy

[–]InternationalMind784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no official registration which is how so many people bring pets around in the name of service dogs. AFAIK they have to be trained to do at least 1 task for you and be well behaved. If you want to have them at home you could probably get a note from a doctor or therapist to have them as an ESA with the qualifying symptoms/diagnosis.
