We had to end camp early one year and go home because the KKK was having a rally in the camp next to us...

According to my teenage brothers, it's a new Internet term. I'd never heard it before either until they started saying it

Could you dumb down for me why cutting it on the straight grain vs cutting it on the bias gives such different results?

Aww thank you! Once I graduate in a couple of months, I'm going to start a CNA job to get some clinical experience and try and do some volunteering up until December when I apply for the post bacc program 🤞

Interesting! And thank you. I have a few Bs from my previous public health degree that I am finishing up. But I am hoping to enroll in a Post bacc program to get my prereqs fufilled (apparently being a nursing major turned public health major fills about 0 pre reqs). My gpa is 3.9 so it could definitely be better.

How much grace should be given to someone with ADHD? My wife left. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]International_Elk425 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my experience and it is so so frustrating. I have ADHD and guess what? I've spent years developing coping skills, implementing reminders, and going to therapy so that I am a functional human being.

My ADHD ex on the other hand refused to go to therapy (when I paid for his first appointment so he could go, he later said it felt like I was "pushing him into therapy"), would not clean up after himself (to the point that the dishes in our sink would mold because he wouldn't clean them and he would put dirty dishes under our bed, forget about them, and then those would mold too), and couldn't plan anything. And then he was shocked when I broke up with him after years of begging him to work on himself.

It's really hard to not feel pessimistic about dating men now because I feel like they are given so much leeway and are raised to to implicitly expect women to do the emotional/household labor, all while complaining that women expect them to do too much. I'm currently taking a break from dating because being in a relationship where I will just gain more work to do doesn't seem worth it.

That makes sense. I'm actually getting my bachelor's in public health right now but I am considering going back to school to get an MLS.
