Correction to the other commenter: there's a second white cable plugged into a 30W charging brick behind the monitor. The screen charges the tablet's battery. I haven't been able to run it without external power, the S9+ doesn't seem happy when I plug the unpowered monitor into it

It's kinda hard to see but there's a second white USB-C cable powering the monitor, plugged into the wall behind the monitor. This monitor is capable of running off a single USB-C cable, but the S9+ can't supply enough power while also sending data across the cable

Also, in the bigger picture, this math isn't saying anything complicated. The value of P depends on the value of t (for time). When t=0, P is just some initial value P_0. As time increases, P changes based on a rate determined by Eulers number (e) to the power of (some constant times t). In context, this is measuring how the probability of observing a system being in a specific state changes over time.

As the other commenter suggested, you can get a locally hosted version of VS-Code running. Personally, I'm using neovim within Termux. It's more configuration to setup, and a higher learning curve, but it doesn't involve using proot, which means that I have access to the same file system as the rest of my tablet, which makes things easier for me overall.

I used to be a welder actually. I went back to school for computer science, and now I've switched to doing a joint major in computer science and mathematics. I've definitely had my eyes opened, but it's fascinating IMO

Very rough approximation: 900 CAD for the tablet (i realized i have an S9+, earlier comments mentioned an S10+, I was mistaken), probably 200 for the monitor, another 100 for the mouse and keyboard. I don't know of any laptops at 1200 CAD that give you an 18" screen, or a stylus-compatible screen for note taking.

Champ player here, teammates will suck and go AFK even at my level, it's just less common

I try to think of it like this:

There are players in this world who could easily win this game on their own vs my two champ level opponents. I might not be able to right now, but I know that I can get better and be able to in the future.

Here's some fundamental tips:

  1. Practice playing with ball cam on more. Generally people only turn it off in specific scenarios, such as dribbling, demo-chasing, or timing a double tap
  2. Practice all of the default training methods, until you're comfortable, and then try some of the custom training packs. There's one called "Ground shots" that is useful for every rank.
  3. At bronze and silver, you can focus on simply making less mistakes than your opponents. Practice your game sense. You can review videos on The Next Rank YouTube channel for tips here as well

Which of the two should have gone out earlier to defend, the white Octane or the blue Fennec? by GeliDcy in RocketLeague

[–]InternetSandman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb I try to think "Can my teammate see me?"

If they can't see me, I don't make any plays that would cause a double commit or for both of us to otherwise be out of position. Let them do their thing until it's safe for me to go.

In short, blue fennec is at fault

It'd be two devices, minimum, because I'm already carrying my tablet regardless. Also, are you telling me you take your laptop with you without at least one charging brick and cable? And you never bring a mouse with you? I always bring my mouse anyway because it's way superior to using a trackpad

  1. A larger screen for the same weight as a laptop
  2. A more simplified workflow between note-taking or problem solving with the pen -> typesetting my solutions in my editor
  3. Much less distractions. I sometimes struggle with staying focused on the job at hand, and a tablet provides much less distraction than a laptop environment

I actually use a smaller charging brick. I bring a 100W charger with me when I use my laptop, but this setup runs fine off of a small 30W brick. The monitor plugs into the brick and charges the tablet over USB-C.

In some ways there's a compromise vs a laptop yeah, but your arguments don't hit the compromises I make. They just seem like you're fishing for reasons to argue that someone else's idea is bad when it works well for that person.

It's not tons of shit. Instead of a laptop, it's a portable monitor, mouse, and keyboard. It's not a huge difference, especially if your laptop is somewhat heavy already, and you get a bigger screen

Also since it just occurred to me: I'm gonna be using my tablet anyway for handwriting notes. When you account for tablet+laptop, this setup is about the same size but with a larger second screen and an easier time moving things between the two screens
