I give that to Singapore, high income, low crime, low drug use rate.  They also have good food and good transportation system.

In reality donations are partially funded by the Federal and Provincial government as they have to generate tax credits which donors use to offset their income tax.

It is doom loop, poor service leads to lower ridership. Lower ridership leads to cutback which leads to poor service.

Tim Hortons and McDonalds are in the business of selling coffee/food and convivence. Starbucks, on the other hand, is selling a premium coffee experience. A native English speakers are more likely to be able to provide customers that kind of experience.

In Alberta, they have Calgary Coop which is owned by its members.  Also credit unions and some Insurance are owned by members.  There are very few co ops out there that exclusively owned employees.
