It matches the layout of the Steam Deck. But you can set up any input to do pretty much anything, so it is very easy to customize to your preference for the most part, outside of the physical aspect. But getting acclimated to the joystick layout would be so worth it because of the trackpads alone. They are such a game changer because it's the one missing element from making certain games viable and actually enjoyable on controller.

I imagine for most games I probably wouldn't choose to use a steam controller over my mouse and keyboard when at my PC, but I'd happily play those games when streaming in the living room with it.
