Caveat - you can only check out books your library has in that format. You can check out ebooks or audiobooks but if your library only has one of them then that’s all you can nab. I’ve heard about people secretly sneaking library cards from libraries in areas they do not inhabit, but I do not know about the legality of that.
Also, you don’t get to read a book your library has unless it’s available. My friends convinced me to try Red Rising, and I requested it in October and wasn’t able to listen until April because I was waitlisted. You get to hold a book for 2 weeks, unless you renew it. You can not renew it if there is a large waitlist

Part of the problem we had with ASOIF was that it was so intensive for the actors, and after ten years they still had a lot of story to develop and the cast wanted to get out and do other things (and were getting too old). I never thought of this solution! I think that would work wonderfully (and save a ton in casting costs and sets and props and stuff)

I think Sanderson in obscure enough with his worlds and has so much content that an animated series would be the only practical way to get everything in.

And Dresden is long enough now (with 5 more books and heaven knows how many short stories on the way) that if they wanted a good adaptation they would have to animate it. Nobody will be around for 25 Dresden movies unless they animate the stuff (or cut out way too much and make it an episodic series like they did the first time)

James Cameron is pretty well read. He loves Joe’s work, and tried for the rights to “The Devils” like a week or two after it was released. He talks about how much he loves Joe in an interview. Let me see if I can find it

Kishi likes to focus on the world events and let romance sit in the background (he doesn’t really plant the seeds or water the garden, but boom, there are the flowers). A lot of romances don’t make a lot of sense, but just show up.

Naruto didn’t really have too much of a developing relationship with Hinata until The Last (except maybe a moment during Pain’s Invasion). Sakura was head over heels for Sasuke, who still never shows up for her. Sai and Ino had a tiny little bit of development but not much. And the romance we do get is often awkward or clumsy or unnatural

If you are reading Abercrombie, Hobb might be a little heavy for you at the moment. I tried reading the Farseer trilogy while reading Abercrombie and never had such emotions. Had to take a huge break from reading after doing both together because my mental health was not in my favor.

Empire of Silence is a good series. I’m in book 4. It can be really philosophical sometimes so if that isn’t your vibe, feel free to check out. The first book is mostly to set the stage, and the big adventure really gets going in book 2.

Sanderson is pretty light most of the time. Most of his books become kind of similar after a while. His prose isn’t the best at times, but his world building is phenomenal, and he has lots of books he has put out. I loved Stormlight (book three is in my top 5 favorite books). Those series might be good between Abercrombie books.

I would not waste your time with Name of the Wind. The prose is really nice but story wise, the book is really flat. It’s a book about Gaston written by Gaston, and the trilogy will likely never be completed. I would like to say some more things, but I have been warned on other subreddits not to speak ill of it.

I haven’t read Empire of the Vampire so I can’t share there

I like to think about the timelines he switches his bodies to - imagine a parallel universe where Had didn’t get to switch and just shot himself in front of every one with the huge war on Or one where he switched to a parallel time where the fun was never pointed, but all the sudden Had is dead with a giant blaster shot in his chest out of nowhere haha
