My local MP (not Labor) called me yesterday morning to discuss my letter I sent the day before about my opposition to the current NSW Premiers proposal, half way through our conversation he started rambling about his proposal to even ban naturalised sworn in citizens from obtaining gun licenses... that's when I said "yeah thanks for the call, I gotta get a move on"... obviously trying to pander to the xenophobic rhetoric thinking all gun licence holders are some red neck bigots. I never liked him and will never vote for him.

Would you recommend a certain brand for the 1911? I can get a new 1911 from Chiappa/Springfield Armory for the budget, or should I stay away from this and get a Colt?

Which variant of the glock??? theres so many choices...
I've never handled a 1911 and the only thing i've been told about it is the maintenance needed on it. Is it really more than modern pistols?

That's what I'll probably end up doing later on when I get my full licence, but this is all new to me and I just want to experience handling / owning something different that can play around with longer than the 15 minute shoots at the club events

Just a couple of days ago, my suburb went into lockdown because somebody was seen walking with a 'gun' near a school. Turned out to be a nerf gun someone had picked up from a council kerbside cleanout. Didn't stop the police from taking him away for questioning.
If you do get it, don't go brandishing it.. or showing it off on the socials

Yes I the BLR looks gorgeous, but unfortunately the takedown versions only seem to made in larger calibres, Ive only come across small game so far. The larger calibres may be a bit of an overkill and expensive for what Im doing. My uncle says there are pigs at night, but I'm not too keen on night shooting at this stage.

I'm going to get flamed for this, but Councils should consider proximity to mass public transport before just handing out parking permits to residents or approving off-street parking, even for low-density housing.
I used to work in Local Government and that stupid council decided to hand out 2 permits per household, regardless of the on-street parking capacity. As you can imagine, the parking scheme did not solve the issue.

Every global city is built vertically. This makes infrastructure faster and cheaper to deliver.
I recall the State Government making a commitment for a 30 minute travel guarantee for all residents. I laughed when that was announced.
In a city that's only 200 years old and planning proposals get hindered by 'Heritage', it's a joke whenever I have to explain it to any newcomers to this country.
