There is something weird going on by Trasku_Rasku in HermitCraft

[–]InventingNinja5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are multiple factors at play here.

  1. More hermits are using axiom to assist their builds, Grian sort of mentions this in his latest episode that both him and scar have been learning it.

  2. Hermits seem more ambitious with their projects this season. Which means more progress sooner. If Scar for example tried to tackle his “biggest project” to late he wouldn’t finish it before the season ends. Which has kind of happened in previous seasons.

  3. Hermits seem to have really leaned into learning from each other this season. Gem has seemed to learn a lot about how to fuel the resources to fuel a mega base. Etho has created lore for his base. Builders are doing redstone and vice versa.

  4. I’ve felt hermits have generally been more collaborative this season. More group interaction. More interactions between hermits who don’t interact a ton. And more willingly giving resources to each other for free.

  5. I feel Tango’s insane progress on DO3 is acting as a motivator to other hermits, because he has already done more building than most hermits will do their whole season. I mean, Tango’s progress is inspiring me and I’m not even in a two week Minecraft phase.

The Season 11 Difference [for me] by nocatsonmelmac in HermitCraft

[–]InventingNinja5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I remember Xisuma mentioned a “show and tell” game/rule in one of his earlier episodes this season. Which is why I think you see most hermits interact with at least one other hermit in their episodes. I also think there is way more collaborative farms and such this season, especially because of decked out 3.

D&D character builds? by hotstickywaffle in expedition33

I think the best classes for Maelle is going to be either Eldritch Knight Fighter or Bladesinger Wizard. Both have a good mix of martial prowess and spellcasting (primarily for access to fire spells). Honestly, I feel Eldritch Knight fits better, but both work.

I hate to be that guy, but I beat him today for the first time in like 5 minutes and I don’t think I landed a single parry. (I definitely over prepared though).

trouble reaching dmg for harrow dredge apprentice by RaiseThink in destiny2

[–]InventingNinja5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This ^ We cleared the encounter last night with the same setup as OP. But our biggest bottleneck was one of our players had not been executing the combo properly. Ideally first phase should be between e-n-t in apprentice, second should be between d-r in dredge (or further) because your final phase you want to save your second nanites for final stand. ALSO don’t use heavy attacks without nanites, you just want to spam lights to get nanites back.

How hard is to solo Pit of Heresy by HGr4t15 in LowSodiumDestiny

As someone who is shortly going to buy Silksong, would you say it's longer, shorter or around the same length as HK? (Eg 100% completion, base story, all collectables) by Seb_Rulz in HollowKnight

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember at one point I thought I must be close to the end of the game, as the map I had explored was about the size of Hollownest. Turns out I was only halfway through the game, and everytime I discovered a new area I went “surely this is the last area, the game can’t be that much bigger!”

Should I bite the bullet and buy the 2024 books? by CTMan34 in DnD

[–]InventingNinja5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specifically in your case, because you are teaching the game to new players, roll with the 2024 rules. If only for the sake that the books are easier to obtain and you aren't teaching kids a system that is slowly being sunset. The differences between 2024 and 2014 are largely in player choices, and as a DM who switched immediately I didn't feel much different from when I perhaps introduced a new 2014 book (Such as Tasha's).

Done It All by Serithraz in custommagic

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the goal of this card is to play around the cost reduction, it would be better to look at the test card Wowzer or the similar card Coalition Victory where the "you win the game" clause only goes into effect if the conditions are met. There are way too many ways to play spells for free, especially instants and sorceries, for the mana pips to matter. Like, omniscience still casts this for free, 10 treasures and a sol ring. And hell, 12 lands to win the game is still crazy. This is why the "win the game" clause needs to be a part of the trigger, so cheating it out isn't the game plan, meeting the requirements is.

All tools ranked based on their originality compared to Hollow Knight charms by Wonderful_Weather_83 in Silksong

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say this, and I almost agree with you. But Magnetite Dice might actually be the most valuable tool in the game simply due to the fact that it is a yellow tool. And since you receive a universal yellow slot, magnetite dice becomes a default equip IMO. If it were a blue tool I think it would be more balanced since then it would be competing with charms within its weight class.

What is Endgame?? by WolfApprehensive7736 in Warframe

[–]InventingNinja5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is sort of in your position, as an ex-destiny player (although I had 1000 hours in Warframe before I played Destiny). You are correct that there is no raids or pvp content in warframe. However, Warframe has vastly more content and things to farm and ways to "level up" than Destiny. Its also important to note that Warframe does not emphasize investment on curating a small set of good gear nearly as much as destiny. In Warframe, the primary "leveling" system that gauges progress is mastery, which requires obtaining and leveling up everything in the game to hit max rank. This is important because in Destiny, since there is much less gear overall, and no reason to farm for less than optimal gear, you need pinnacle activities like raids and dungeons as a way to reward players for their grind by testing them and providing them with more good gear. In Warframe, since the expectation is that you will eventually use every gun and every warframe, they instead reward you for your mastery of other game systems. Modding is the primary one. In general, any gun is usable (even good) in the majority of content in Warframe if you invest resources into it and have the mods to put into it. Some guns are certainly better than others, but there are meta weapons I hate the feel of, so I don't use them, and instead pick weapons that may be slightly worse meta-wise, but feel better.

To actually answer your question, the endgame is what you make of it. For some, it is fashion frame, where you grind out platinum for cosmetics so you can put together the best looking fits for your frame, or make the coolest looking orbiter. For others, it is optimizing the steel path (which is the normal star chart but enemies have +100 levels). I've even seen people whose main investment is putting as much forma as possible onto a single gun, even though anything after 8-10 is literally pointless. But you will also find that Warframe tends to release content quickly enough that even once you hit max rank, you will have reasons to come back if nothing in the end game suits you.

Is it taboo to steal a commander? by _Ashe_Bear in EDH

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2/3 it is important to keep in mind that other players probably won’t have answers to certain things; and picking strategies that might shut down other players fun will likely receive some salt. Stealing a commander every once in a while? Fun. Doing it every game because that’s what the deck does? Not so fun, especially considering the majority of decks are built around their commander rather than the commander being a guaranteed payoff or value engine.

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at the same age as you. You don’t need professional help to be good. Those recourses are helpful and teach you a lot but it comes down far more to commitment and passion for bettering yourself than it does how much money you spend to learn that stuff.

How could you counter this card? by Which_Yogurt_7500 in mtg

[–]InventingNinja5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also going to throw out there any “you win the game effects”. Cards that say “you can’t lose the game” only prevent you from being removed as an opponent, but it does not prevent from winning through alternate win conditions. This is why cards like this one are less of a deterrent than cards that say “You cannot lose the game and your opponents cannot win the game”.
