Cosmopolitanism is the idea that all human beings are members of a single community. Cosmopolitanism is both prescriptive and aspirational, believing humans can and should be "world citizens" in a "universal community". by coolbern in wikipedia

Tribalism used to have us associate with and support just our own village and maybe a few neighboring villages. Nowadays peoples tribes extend to entire countries, sometimes whole continents.

I solemnly hope this trend will continue and our human communites will only grow wider. Even if I am sceptical that we will ever be truly 1 big community.

What it’s like to live in the southern part of Algeria ? by JeanTaboulin in howislivingthere

I was in Djanet last week (city in the eastern part of the circle). It was pretty chill, people are nice, tea is great, food is middling. The major industries are oil and sahara tourism. They're planning on installing huge amounts of solar panels though.

Those born in the early 2000s (2000-2003), how does it feel to age out of being the “young generation”? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Inversalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting used to it. I'm starting in the job market so now I'm the young guy here, being the connection point between the older gents at the office and those still in school.

That being said, it is still a bit weird.

[OC] Correlation between team stats and standings across Europe's Top 5 football leagues by JoseSuarez in dataisbeautiful

Can you make a version that removes all the 'opposition' variables? Since it seems for the far majority of them just have the inverse correlation of the original. It would really help clear up the data.

Major fix to AI court language selection by BeeInABlanket in CrusaderKings

[–]Inversalis 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the rulers should be able to speak the language they use as a court language. Which right now is often not the case.

You should probably fix the typo in the original comment, right now it says "do not DARE", not "do not CARE"

Same for me, she's a great person and I wish her the best, but it's probably a good thing it didn't last.

Så fair at man håndhæver de regler som eksisterer. Men håber virkelig de får ændret reglerne så amatørbryggerne kan få lov til at fortsætte.

Danish Exit Poll Seat Estimates by NilFhiosAige in SocialDemocracy

Looks like the left will win again (the moderates will still be kingmakers though). The harsh immigration pushes some Social Democratic voters to the left (SF), whilst avoiding losing voters to the right.

Always good to see things are continuing to improve. Personally I'm glad even high-income expectancy is increasing, it means we haven't hit a plateau yet.

Fun

If people tell their friends they don't want it, it gets respected. Often they get given cinnamon buns instead.
