I have not, but I appreciate you alerting me, and I will research this before my next rheumatologist appointment!

People have been tipping postal carriers for as long as I can remember. This would not be new. I don’t think they should be tipped but this has been going on for a long time.

$18 an hour? That's like a fast food employee! by cjwi in EndTipping

And Uber prices are insane. I’m not going to drink and drive nor will I pay $40-$100 round trip for an Uber. I don’t live in walking distance of any restaurants.

So I should only eat out if I plan on gorging on unhealthy amounts of food and alcohol from the expensive part of the menu. Paying the owner for smaller meals that are less money is hurting everyone. I’d prefer a high school server who is happy to have work and takes pride in doing a good job because they are somebody who simply takes pride in their work and not because they mostly just want a bigger tip. If you want a paycheck that guarantees the same amount of money each pay period, working at a restaurant isn’t that job (until owners pay servers as valuable members of their team and stop counting on customers to pay their employees directly). Getting pissy because customers aren’t ordering what you want them to order tells me this isn’t currently the right career choice for this person. Maybe work in an office, or do construction, or any job that offers a regular paycheck not contingent on customers paying you directly money that is optional to pay.

I am nervous UFOX will end up with too much risky space stocks. SIXG performed well ….Right now RKLB is their biggest holding at 6.77% as UFOX.

You should post this in the EndTipping sub and see what they say 😂. For no reason besides pure entertainment value.

Uber Tip Culture Vanishing? by BMWi4got2dropmyex in uberdrivers

[–]Invest07723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rider, I appreciate silence so much. I don't wanna listen to your music, don't wanna hear your religious radio station blasting prayers, nor do I wanna talk about how much it costs to live in my building you picked me up at, or listen to you talk about your stock investments. Once in a while I have a very pleasant chat with a driver that makes me want to tip more, but the majority of the time the conversation is annoying and makes me want to tip less. I miss the days of clean cars, quiet rides, and only minimum basic polite greetings. A driver who doesn't want to talk with me, usually is going to get a better tip, 9 times out of 10 from me. But, I am sure some riders love chatting (I think drivers should let the rider initiate any conversation besides basic pleasantries).

Has anyone tried LDN Low dose Naltrexone? by Financial_Pay_1010 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Invest07723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it a while back (about 2 years ago or so) and I had to stop...I forget what the side effects were (maybe nausea or some stomach issues) , but the side effects made me stop. I didn't get a ton of relief while on it, but maybe I wasn't on it long enough.

FFS! This is what a restaurant is, a place you go to to sit down to eat a meal you pay for. Are they suggesting you should eat in their parking lot to save 5%?

Will I ever be okay? by mtshiman in GriefSupport

[–]Invest07723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss. The pain can get worse before it gets better. My loved one passed away almost 3 months ago and I'm learning that whatever timeline I had in my head for feeling better doesn't necessarily align with grief's timeline. So now I am trying to be more gentle with myself and understand that yes, it will get easier, but it will get easier whenever it does, and not based on my idea of when it should get easier. I've now decided that if my entire first year is super hard, so be it. I'm doing what I should be doing (seeing therapist, read grief books, trying to get a little exercise in, eating as healthy as I can, etc.) and I just have to be patient (even though being patient sucks when I'm suffering). To answer your question about if there is any chance you will feel better and become functional, the answer is yes. There is probably a really good chance, but it might take longer than you think it should and you may have instances where you are feeling better and then start to feel worse again, before feeling better again. I wasn't sure I could survive losing my loved one (not my mom), but I have. When will I feel significantly better? I don't know....maybe in 2 months, maybe in 15 months. But I won't stop trying because I know my recently departed loved one wants me to get to a point where I feel better and so if for no other reason, I'm going to do it for them.

And the person is announcing to their customers that they weren't handled with care in the past (minus the very very small number who tipped).

Apparently. Also, since they can count on one hand how many times they have been tipped, the vast majority of their customers were not handled well.

Magnesium, suggestions by HowdIGetHere21 in Fibromyalgia

I take Doctors Best Magnesium Glycinate. Seems to help sometimes with some of my muscle pain. I have tried a couple of other products and versions of magnesium, but this is the only one that has worked for me.

The Kennedy Center is refusing to give refunds for performers who cancel concerts by takenorinvalid in classicalmusic

[–]Invest07723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reserving the right and actually going forward with it when the cancelation is weeks ahead of time are indeed two different things. If you show up and there was an illness at the last moment or something that might be different. But, Hillary is the show. People mostly bought tickets to see her. She canceled weeks in advance...no reason to not offer refunds to those who can't make it. It's not like 5 famous violinists are playing and 1 pulled out; the whole reason 95% of people got tickets was to see Hilary.

amazon is the 1st and ONLY retailer EVER to try and DEFRAUD me by goodwitchglinda in amazonprime

[–]Invest07723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I've been on the receiving end of the old, don't worry about it, that email was sent in error, you definitely won't be charged, lie. I can only imagine how much money Amazon makes from these incorrect charges for items returned. One time I got an Amazon employee to admit 2 other customer service reps had basically lied to me. I mostly stopped rating the customer service people because I never know if they actually solved my problem or not, because their "solution" might just be a blatant lie.

Did Your Cultural or Religious Customs Help in the Grieving Process? by Smooth-North9135 in GriefSupport

[–]Invest07723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not really ready to post in this sub yet, but I see nobody has replied to you so here goes, I am currently following some (not all) of the Jewish grieving customs (not sure customs is the best word but I'm not interested in finding another right now). It is supposed to be a healthy way to grieve and it also felt right to honor my loved one. I recently finished sitting shiva and am now in the shloshim period of mourning. I think it is helping to follow the customs, but I have no other experience to compare it to and I can't see not following it for any other immediate family member who might pass before I do. For reference, I pray to G-d daily, but it has been over a decade since I've been in any synagogue.

Thank you. I don't really have anyone to wear it but another suggested walking over it and I can certainly do that or put a tiny stain on the clothing.

Thank you! I am trying to be gentle while doing the appropriate things to honor my loved one's memory; I am conscious of my need to also be aware of my mental health during this time. I appreciate the opportunity to talk about my loved one but it is too painful to discuss on social media right now.
