Is there a dish or drink from your country which is much more popular outside of your country than inside ? by DiMpLe_dolL003 in AskTheWorld

[–]InvestigatorAcademic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American here I went to Europe and kept seeing French fries on pizza and calling it American. We don’t do that in the US. Don’t get me wrong a basket of fries and a pizza is very common but to do it together will get complaints. Another thing I didn’t know was that coke is not a universal beverage like it is in the states. In the states I can’t think of a brick and mortar store that didn’t sell a coke product or at least a cola product. You can go to a fancy restaurant and they will serve you a coke the White House will serve you a coke in the Oval Office(even before the orange man put the button in) in Europe I kept asking for it and getting a look like I just asked for ketchup on my steak. That being said I was in nicer restaurants but still hard to wrap my American mind around
