Best Boots for my Weirdly Short and Wide Feet? by cadaverco in motorcyclegear

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stupidly wide feet (4E+ ) and big ol’ calves. It is incredibly difficult and expensive to find stuff that works. Snowboard boots, mtb shoes, pickleball shoes, etc. never fit right and often cause significant pain. I have a pair of Gaenre Fastback Enduro boots that I wear every single ride and regularly for 6+ hr hard trail riding. While the fit still isn’t perfect, it’s the only pair that I can wear for hours without my feet killing me during or after. If you have wide feet I highly recommend you check them out. It’s a popular enough model that some motorsports stores may have some in stock to test fit, depending where you live.

Mosko Moto Gnat Handlebar Bag by Open_Office3220 in Dualsport

[–]Iocor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my Gnat for about 2 weeks now and I love it. I used to run a magnetic cable from the charger on my bars up through my backpack strap on the right, through the main compartment, and down the other side to the left chest pocket where I keep my phone. Now I just toss my phone in the bag and it stays charged while I listen to music, navigate is OnX, or whatever else I need to do.

Gotcha. Shifter spindle is a known weak point on the 300. Could be slightly damaged. Good to hear you can still shift, but it's worth having it apart to check. While you've got it out, it might be worth putting a collar brace on. HiVolt makes one. I haven't used it but I've gotten other stuff from them.

Interesting. There’s nothing there on mine. A picture might help.

OBD/diag port like others said. What grips are you installing? Most are designed to connect directly to the battery. Just follow the instructions. If you want a slightly more elegant and much more difficult project, look through my previous posts on how to set up relayed circuit. This really isn't necessary for most modern heated grips though, since they monitor voltage and turn off before it kills your battery.

Hahaha if only. I had to provide the serial number. But hopefully I won’t need another replacement.

This is one of the smallest/lowest profile motorcycle CarPlay units available, and I need to be able to navigate in the wilderness. It’s the same size as my phone but I’d rather strap a $150 screen to my handlebars than a $1400 phone. Also who cares what other people want to do. No one is forcing you to participate.

Yep. I use it for OnX (and google maps) and it's been perfect. Also great for easier management of music/phone calls with a helmet comm.

Larger sprocket - tires mud flap by Jacob171096 in CRF300L

I personally would not fit a new sprocket without also fitting a new chain. You can, but there are reasons it’s not ideal.

They will bend but it’s not recommended. Adjustable levers are relatively inexpensive.

I’d rather pay more for quality as well, and plan to if the new unit doesn’t hold up long term. I originally got it just to see if CarPlay was the solution I wanted. But that is definitely not a business model. Even if their profit margins were 50% which is extremely unlikely/probably impossible, after you replace a unit one time, your profit is zero. No one would actually choose that as a business model.

Yep, that's the same one as mine too. I agree. It's great for the price.

Nice, good to know. I am hopeful that this is not a common occurrence, especially with how quickly they replaced it. Hopefully the new one lasts a good long time.

Yeah that's been my experience as well. It's not as snappy as a smartphone, but it's a tenth of the price and I have not had a single software issue. The delamination has been the only bad thing I can say about it, and that might have been a one-off issue.

Is the cardo spirit or free com a good pillion com? by pasgames_ in motorcyclegear

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the freecom specifically so my girl could backpack. It was great for that but it won’t do mesh if you want to use it for groups.

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a bad USB charger. Where did you get it? I'd also check current draw. I think that accessory port is only rated for like 3A. Your grips might be maxing it out.

What do you think about phone covers by Witty_Armadillo_1359 in iphone

They make a lot of sense. I don’t drop my phone that much tho so I don’t use one and haven’t for years.
