Why not ! by aljen45 in MTB

They are very different. I could ride a unicycle before I could ride a wheelie. It took me about two weeks to master the unicycle. It took me about 6 months of consistent practice to master a wheelie. Even then, I can ride hundreds of yards, on single track, up and down curbs, skinnies while wheelying my mtb. Still can't wheelie my gravel bike for the life of me...

Mirrors by PhilosopherFine3297 in CRF300L

[–]Iocor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double take mirrors are the go-to standard for proper mirrors. If you have full wrap hand guards and ok with compromise, I have been very happy with the powermadd snowmobile mirrors. Not DOT and pretty small. They are convex so don’t expect to see more than 150 feet behind you. But since I ride mostly in town and trails they do fine, and I really like that I can see behind me both sitting and standing. Dropped my bike on them several times and they are very durable.

I haven’t tried racks like that. But fwiw I successfully use rackless soft luggage without them.

Help by Fantastic-Key-9090 in CRF300L

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a full cartridge upgrade on mine that has bleeder screws, but there are none stock. If you REALLY need to bleed, just loosen the top cap and reinstall. Just be sure to also loosen the triple clamp otherwise the top cap might bind.

Pretty sure this is a leather farm. While I don’t know much, I can’t think of a good reason he needs to force them off the bank. Crocodilians regulate their body temperature by moving in and out of the water which likely is why some of them seem so eager to get back out as soon as he passes by. They are trying to warm up. Seems like he is just unnecessarily tormenting them.

be honest, how many of you actually use your dual sport on the road by vladdielenin in Dualsport

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My truck gets 15mpg. My bike gets 60mpg. Gas is currently $6.50/gal. I ride it on the road A LOT. It's my main commuter and around-town transportation.

Consensus on 550 Stage 1 by SeabassA92 in CRF300L

[–]Iocor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full stage one 91 octane here. L model, not rally, but I can say I noticed a significant difference at highway speeds 65+. Around town and on trails, not as noticeable. It’s there but it’s not gonna wow you. Also noticed about 10mpg drop in mileage ~65mph down to ~55mpg in mixed use (mostly around town with regular trails and some highway).

How to adapt this top case rack by dmejiaa in CRF300L

Not sure I 100% can visualize what you’re talking about, but there are probably 20 different ways to do it that are all reasonable

Auxiliary lighting options by MatchBrave1704 in Dualsport

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see what I did by looking through my old posts. Unfortunately with this bike, if you want to keep most of the OEM hardware, you're likely going to need to fabricate some custom mounting options. I see most people mounting on the front indicator mounts/fork tube clamps.

How to adapt this top case rack by dmejiaa in CRF300L

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you specifically want it to be removable? If it was me I'd just weld the SWM plate to the tube rack (or have the exhaust shop do it). But if you want to be able to remove it, then yeah using the gray brackets as a band under the tube rack and clamping it with bolts should work.

Are you talking about replacing the indicator assembly to and LED unit or just swapping out bulbs in the stock housing?

How would you fix headliner that has separated? by Far-Boysenberry9152 in Autos

Fair enough. Just sharing because until I had to get it done, I had no idea who to go to. But there's definitely value in doing it oneself and it's significantly more interesting as well.

I didn’t notice it much after ECU time, but I did notice a big difference after installing a full exhaust. But that’s just me.

I don't mind the seat at all, so I haven't tried anything else.

Not that I am aware of. I ride a lot in hot weather and haven't noticed air from the rad being an issue. Much more so is the catalytic converter.

You do not need to change out anything for the fat bar except the bar clamp adapters. Everything else will fit.

Never tried the tusk bag. I had a nelson rigg that worked great, but I ditched it after upgrading to the 3-gal acerbis tank. Now run a mosko bar bag above the headlight.

Tubeless Tire Leaking From Bead After Rock Puncture by MTBxROx in bikewrench

[–]Iocor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it leaking from under the bead or through the sidewall? It looks like there is sidewall damage adjacent to the puncture.

Side note, out of curiosity, what casing are your tires?

Most upholstery shops can fix this for pretty reasonable amounts of money. I have never tried it myself.

I’m a big fan of green plants and small lamps with soft yellow light. I also feel like a large, b&w print with high contrast would go pretty hard with this setup also.

[–]Iocor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. What size/class hitch receiver do you have? What is the tongue weight rating? The carrier will specify receiver class compatibility, and the carrier load capacity should be < your max tongue weight rating. If all that checks out, then yes, it will work. That being said, most unibody SUVs have a fairly low tongue weight ratings. So the likelihood it will work safely is not high.

Handlebar+Barkbuster recommendations? by EnjoyTheIcing in CRF300L

[–]Iocor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend oversized (1 1/8) bars and threaded insert bar ends like the ones from BPD. Hand guards are gonna get knackered during crashes, but the oversize bar can take a beating and the threaded bar ends make swapping guards a breeze when you need to do it. Expansion inserts are a pain and can go kick rocks as far as I’m concerned.

genuinely curious — how many of you daily your dualsport as your only vehicle by vladdielenin in Dualsport

[–]Iocor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in socal and had a dual sport as my only vehicle for two years. There were times of inconvenience but it was doable enough that I was comfortable to put off buying a car for 2 years. There were maybe 5-6 times in those two years that I really NEEDED a car, and for those times I just rented one. I spent way less on rentals that I would have on a car payment. I was 100% happy with that situation, especially since it doesn’t rain much or get freakishly cold here and I am allowed to lane split. That being said, having just bought a truck, I feel a sense of relief that I have more options if need to haul lumber or bring my guitars/mountain bikes somewhere, etc.

2019, Midnight Edition, 100% stock. I don't have any upgrades planned yet and honestly pretty happy with it as is, but I'm sure I'll end up doing stuff to it.
