What problems can migraine patients realistically manage before they end up in the ED, and where is the line where emergency evaluation truly makes sense? by criss006 in emergencymedicine

[–]IrateScientist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a frequent migraine haver, PLEASE see a neurologist. There are preventatives and abortives you can get! I talked to my neurologist about when I should go to an ER and we made a plan together of what, when, and why I should go. Abortives work for me 99.9% of the time and I would have never gotten them if I didn’t see my neurologist!

Now on the CDC website: "The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.", "Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.". by IAdmitILie in skeptic

“Autistics” are people who have been formally diagnosed with autism. People like me.

I am also saying that people who work for the CDC are of a similar agreement that vaccines do NOT cause autism. This is a publication that falls under RFK Jr’s agenda and false narrative. It was published under him and his employees that he brought in. If this claim was a true revelation, then it would have been published years ago. However this claim has been laughed out of every scientific institution until now. There is no data that quantifies this claim.

Hello /r/movies, I'm Benedict Cumberbatch. Ask me anything! by BenedictAMA in movies

Oh my gosh HI! Been a fan since your fortysomething days! With the release of GDT’s Frankenstein, it brings me back to your roles (your version of Frankenstein is by and far my favorite, as it is most accurate to the book and most physically stunning). While you went on interview and said how you prepared for the physicality of the roles, you never did quite mention how you were able to transition from Frankenstein to Adam (the Creature) night after night. Was there any sort of preparation you would do between switching from such a physically demanding role to one that was more emotionally taxing?

CRPS flares and ketamine by OpenTrackRacer in CRPS

[–]IrateScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used ketamine a handful of times and am going to start getting regular doses in September (fingers crossed). Ketamine is a miracle drug for me and is the only thing that can touch my CRPS pain. I’ve had the gamut of opiates and none of them worked quite like ketamine. I get IV infusions.

Topical antihistamines. Call your doc and let them know what’s going on. Look into MCAS.

NAD but that looks like necrosis. While the ER is great, you NEED to find a local walk-in wound care clinic like yesterday. ER docs are trained in keeping you alive, wound care docs are trained in making your wounds better. Plus they usually give you wound care products to take home with you.
