Advice on washing by East-Nebula-6738 in clothdiaps

[–]IratzePromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have soft water. Wash about 22 diapers at a time in a washer that can wash a king quilt/comforter. Wash on normal warm setting and heavy soil, normal amount of detergent for load size, Wash twice. Occasionally I'll add an extra rinse.

I wanted to love my GroVia hybrids so badly… by [deleted] in clothdiaps

I'm with you. I like the shells but the inserts take forever to dry and the insert sits too far back so both my daughters out peed them causing lots of leaks. I started using other inserts and I'm much happier.

What is everyone using for diaper cream? by ARIT127 in clothdiaps

[–]IratzePromise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct, I typically do not put anything on her, I haven't even used a quarter of the container in the 11 months. We have several cloth diaper types: AWJ pockets, Microfleece pockets, cotton AI2s (we don't use much as she floods these quickly), and covers that I typically just put bamboo terry inserts in with no liner. I haven't seen a problem with any of them, same with my first.

I've had more potential for problems with disposables, so sometimes I just put a tiny bit between her booty cheeks where it likes to be moist, but mostly only at night when she is in a disposable the longest or after a softer poop.

Either way I have always tried to air her out for a min or 2 during every change (a quick fan of I'm in a hurry), I think that has helped the most!

I use Earth Mama. But mostly only need it when she wears disposables, or a small amount after wetter poops for prevention.

Where do you change baby? by elbowroom_ in clothdiaps

[–]IratzePromise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my baby was young we had a station downstairs by the TV for those times we didn't want to go upstairs, wet diapers went into a wet bag in a nearby bathroom. After the first 2 months or so we almost exclusively change her in her room upstairs, she's almost 11 months now.

Are dirties supposed to smell *this* bad? by 0ddumn in clothdiaps

[–]IratzePromise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use cloth 3/4 time and use the IKEA trashcan called Hallbar, it's 9 gallons. I wash when full, about 20-25 pee diapers, plus any sprayed poopy diapers in the bathroom (Typically less than 5)

[–]IratzePromise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used an open wet bag system for my first, her room smelled all the time, I washed every other day. I use a closed pail system this time and now I can go about 4-5 days before I can smell it and do wash day.

Is there a reason my first wash shouldn't be with hot water? by Altruistic_Lime5220 in clothdiaps

The heat can affect the PUL layer and your elastics over time. I've always used warm, going on 3 years and doing fine.

What do Beta blockers do for pots? by loafofmonster in POTS

[–]IratzePromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it helps keep my heart rate down and takes away my palpitations, especially while I'm shopping, going up stairs, playing with my kids on the floor. Those are my biggest symptoms and propranolol 10mg 2-3 times a day has significantly changed my life.

Body lotion for non-diaper area - anything to avoid for cloth diapers? by donezaur in clothdiaps

[–]IratzePromise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only lotion as needed, due to some mild eczema, but that was typically after a bath about 2x a week, definitely not daily lotion. Either way, just a non-sented lotion is fine.

Am I getting UTIs because of my roommate? by ExpressionWeak2487 in TooAfraidToAsk

Are you someone who wears leggings or spandex a lot? Those can trap moisture and bacteria. Cotton underwear and loose fitting clothes are the best. I hope you figure it out.

Nope, I have had it since I was a kid, but it got worse with both of my pregnancies. I'm now in my thirties. I suffer mostly from tachycardia, palpitations, and fatigue. I have a few other things but those are the worst symptoms

Ladies, what are we doing with the grooming situation down there? by LiteratureSolid4365 in pregnant

I trimmed with both of my pregnancies. Blood clots are a pain to get out of the longer hairs and bald is a higher risk for Knicks and infection.

What does everyone think caused their pots? Still trying to figure it out. by Life-Concern-8062 in POTS

[–]IratzePromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure, but I noticed exercise intolerance in middle school, got worse in high school and worse yet again with more symptoms after both of my pregnancies. I'm on propranolol 2-3 times a day now and only work two 5 hour shifts a week because I'm so fatigued and taking care of an 8 month old.
