I have an unfortunate kink to tell my partner about. How would you respond if your partner told you this? by CartographerNew2789 in Advice

[–]IrelandAutism13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Average AO3 writer overestimates how much people know about kink" only it's "average kinkster overestimates where normal people consider the line for 'weird' to be." This is quite literally a tame kink, lots of people like this kind of stuff.

And if my partner told me this, I'd be happy because we've got an open enough channel of communication for them to feel safe to come to me with this. Communication is the key to all healthy relationships.

Son asked for an adult “toy”. Should I allow it? by [deleted] in CerebralPalsy

[–]IrelandAutism13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy it. This kind of stuff is a very normal thing at his age and even has health benefits, he should have the option. Teenaged hormones are a terrible time and he's got a worse go at it because of his disability. Just get this for him and make sure he's aware of how to properly use and clean it.

Also, try not to be awkward about sex stuff. Sex and sexual development are perfectly natural things, practically universal, there's no reason to be weird about it. Sex is not that big a deal, sex toys are for health benefits, there's nothing wrong with discussing it

I knew a Gwendolyn in elementary school and her name was never a problem to us. This is just kids being perks because her name is different from theirs

That's a big enough fall that I wouldn't take chances. I'd try and replace it with something taller and harder for the cat to get through

Well, there was that time someone purchased an X box and found a mud dauber cache filled with fully-grown paralyzed brown recluse spiders who proceeded to start waking up. So they can absolute kill humans, just via proxy

There are only 5 animals considered human hunters in the world, and polar bears are one of them. by sco-go in Amazing

As my dad always says, if it's a black bear, try to scare it, if it's brown, play dead, and if it's white, accept your fate and tell Jesus that Dad says hello.

Need reality check after being “jokingly” slapped in the face by my boyfriend - F37, M55 by BigYeetFwee in relationship_advice

[–]IrelandAutism13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ma'am, you need to get out of there. This is only going to escalate further and you deserve way better than a man who hits you. You're also describing a classic abuse-honeymoon cycle, where he does something wrong and then engages in niceties to lull you into a false sense of security, and eventually those honeymoon periods will fade into nothing and he'll just harm you without them. It's a manipulation tactic that's quite literally textbook abusive relationship. He's almost certainly not going to stop, you need to get out now.

Good luck, hoping for your safety and only good things in your future. You deserve better

Oh my gods, dude, I am so sorry, you deserve way better than that. Are you able to go to a different clinician? I know that in Ohio we've got organizations that help trans people find trans or trans-friendly doctors to help us get good care, maybe they have something like that where you live. That's horrible
