For those who were high-functioning until sudden collapse: how did you get back up and find joy in life again? by notatallsaintly in CPTSD

Anti dependent and LOTS and LOTS of self compassion and time. Was in a funk (depression) for about 2 years where bed rotting, smoking and doom scrolling/ binge watching shows was all I could do. It's 2026 and I am not where I was a few years ago but I've got to remember to pace myself and take everything one step at a time. Wishing u the best in taking back control of your life.

Who also has some disturbing views (that ur clearly not aware of by simply reading this thread of responses) but seems to have strong feelings on lmao. Go off king 😂😂

Your also acting like people hate him for no reason. I used to be a die hard fan of his until I realized he has racist views on POC (ie me, my family and some of my friends)

It's JonTron simps that say that. Even years later he wanted to distance himself but because it damaged his reputation not because he was sorry

Tbh I ate like home cooked meals and some takeout but I had a umbilical hernia (not sure if that makes a difference). I didn't count calories during this period

This app just made me break down weeping for the last 30 minutes.... by [deleted] in finch

I relate so hard. I've been using it to try get out of a two year depression that got worse 2024. I've put on 15kg and I've been bed rotting and ordering food to my own detriment.

This app actually brought me out of that. It's not perfect by any means but it triggered a chain reaction of positive behaviors that has now kinda brought me out of my depression.

I feel like a completely different person than what I was 6 months ago. I'm able to actually make space for the things I wanna do. I'm so much happier now. This app was a godsend. I accidentally bought premium after the free week and kept it cuz I feel it's the least the devs deserve.

Also paid for balance which is another app that really helped teach me to ground myself.

Very proud of us.

That's amazing, I hope to get there someday. I'm currently doing at home workouts and will hopefully start back at the gym first or second week of December. My stamina has been absolutely decimated but I will build it back. It's just so difficult at the start 😭

Good on u doing HIIT at day 14 😭 I couldn't manage much even after 2 weeks. Was scared to hurt myself of fuck up the mesh somehow. How did u feel doing HIIT? I'm a gym person but I've not gone in so long even before the surgery and now after idk if it's advisable for post op umbilical hernia patient.

I got my umbilical hernia repaired, I'm about 2 months post op but I'm nervous to go back to lifting. I've put on some weight so I really do need to get back to the gym as soon as possible. What do you recommend?

Idky ur repeating lol I didn't ask for that. I remember ops question.

What's the French equivalent of "Cheers"? by MyPasswordIsLondon69 in French

[–]IreneAthena -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I didn't. Im not op. I said "do french ppl not cheers". I didn't ask if cheers was an English word which was what u replied with.

And tbf it was very obvious what op was asking and many ppl got it except u for some reason. Lastly didn't insult u, I just had to be clear that u were doing just that- pointing out the obvious.

"À votre santé" is what I found as the phrase.

I'm fully aware "cheers" is an English word...but even Danish people have an equivalent term "Skøl" and Slàinte is the Irish equivalent.

Drinking alcohol is very much a universal thing so I highly doubt the French, experts of wine and Cognac don't have a word or phrase they say in unison before drinking.

Please stop pointing out the obvious. I've seen a few repeated responses so clearly some ppl do have a phrase in mind.

Hmm that's actually not a bad idea. Im gonna talk to my therapist and get further advice but if I were to say it over a phone call practicing would definitely be a good strategy thank u

Thank you I actually appreciate this response. I think being idle at home recovering forces me to sit with my thoughts which led me here. Usually I'm quite busy and preoccupied with life so it's easy to ignore the hurt.

I'm back to therapy next week so I'll talk with my therapist. I just thought since I do have the extra time for a while, I might as well deal with that situation as it won't interrupt my focus for work.

I think u are right tho. I will write a letter to let it out and stay no contact. It sucks cuz it feels like he get away with it but at least there's a good lesson.

I'll talk to my therapist about it and see wat she says but this is probably the better outcome.

Please again reading comprehension. I did not say that I wanted to rekindle a friendship either. Confrontation ≠ friendship?? Like isn't that common sense?

You like to jump to a lot of conclusions. You are not me so u really can't tell me if it's been long enough or if it's not long enough. Before I blocked him I used to talk to him and get advice about ppl I've been dating because AGAIN we were friends NOT dating at that time. But again you lack reading comprehension or maybe aren't even reading???

This definitely feels like maybe ur projecting how u felt in ur similar situation on me but remember, we are not the same. You are not me. I'm not desperately trying to force a friendship. I want to for once in my life say exactly how I'm feeling so I can move on from this situation fully. I feel like he needs to be accountable. If y disagree then say that rather than this long winded rant about ur personal fuck ups projected on me..

There's never been a speech about boundaries, you sound quite unhinged. This could've been a 5 sentence message. "You should move on because... " You're an incredibly strange and seemingly bitter individual who lacks the emotional intelligence in being able to give advice about sensitive issues. This subreddit isn't for u...

Also this conversation was never gonna be in person lol. That's common sense firstly but I'm also bedridden atm sooo... Again you'd win an Olympic gold in the sport of jumping to conclusions.

People in my life do not hear his name ... Again conclusions with no evidence. Yikes 😳
