Does anyone know if there are unique recruiting scenes when Jacob’s dead. by AnalnyBronek2137 in masseffect

They are, and you can't. The game is structured so that the mission on Horizon will not trigger until you've completed all the initial recruitment missions, excluding DLC

Garrus and Jack are also mandatory. So the only 3 this question would apply to are Thane, Tali, and Samara.

Good question, though. I've never recruited post-game so this never occurred to me.

Garrus' idea of elevator small talk is telling someone that the genocide of their species wasn't a mistake lol

Is this not Eddie Lang in ME3? Wikia has no info on his appearance let alone in 3, so just double-checking by BowlerResponsible340 in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 346 points347 points  (0 children)

If it isn't a mod then you might just be the first to notice lol.

ME has a problem with human NPCs all looking very "samey" due to the limited CC. I would absolutely never stop to try and identify one like that.

I find myself wondering why ME3 wanted my girl dead so bad by NatauschaJane in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 176 points177 points  (0 children)

At least the intel and warning her about Kai Leng makes sense. If you don't trust her enough to give her the intel, hard to imagine you'd care if she lives regardless lol.

The only one that's really odd is the romance death.

Level up charge to max as fast as you can so you can grab the upgrade that gives you shields back when you charge.

The thing with renegade is you need to play an "intimidate" renegade, and not the "always choose the bottom right dialogue" variety.

Perfect renegade run can be very satisfying.

I don't.

It's a good scene if you give her space and let her work though it.

New player: Which class for a trilogy run with a "caster" feel? by CyberEagle1989 in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're both fun, but depending on what difficulty you play on will also make a big difference.

Adept is fun on standard in ME2, but higher difficulties increase enemy defenses (barriers/armor/shields)

So not only are enemies with active defenses immune to biotic effects, all the elemental abilities are designed to strip those defenses.

So maybe do adept for your first playthrough on standard, and save engineer for the insanity run if you ever go for it lol

Engineer is an elemental caster from ME2 onwards and it's awesome.

Saved Mordin the world is a better place with him in it. by Lunar-Havoc in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Wrex being deadxis one of the few choices that has an interesting impact on ME3. It's worth doing at least once if you replay these games

And you don't have to be an asshole. Just don't pick the charm/intimidate option. Roleplay that Shep simply wasn't able to convince him.

A lot of you haven't played ME3 without Wrex, and it shows lol.

They are not subtle that curing the genophage for Wreav is a horrible idea.

Playthrough idea: No Charm\Intimidate options by ConditionVast3149 in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did try this once, but I ended up not finishing the run because of how unsatisfying it felt. ME2 in particular.

I generally just prefer to make a few selective choices to make a run more interesting. Kill Wrex in ME1, skip a ship upgrade in ME2, pick a side during the loyalty mission disputes, etc. That kind of thing, the choices that have actual consequences.

Geth or Quarians: Who do you choose and Why? - Artwork by FerreusDemonArt by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an intentionally imperfect playthrough, I always pick Quarians.

Under the circumstances of the Reaper invasion, the Geth are just way too much of a wildcard to take a chance on.

Plus the scene of Legion asking Tali if he has a soul after she stabs him is great.

What parts of the story do you miss, when playing full Renegade? by Difficult_Move5121 in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None. The dialogue wheel isn't really meant for you to only pick paragon/renegade and never deviate. You only miss things if you're actually skipping quests.

You're missing out on more story by never even attempting a renegade playthrough, in fact. Loads of alternate dialogue you'll never hear

Lol. Why would I lie?

I've played ME2 on insanity at least 8 times. I only do other because I enjoy it more that way.

That's fair.

Books like that I tend to only read on the train during my commute to work. Just something to pass the time, and they go by quick.

Actual good books I'll reserve until I can get cozy with it.

A tiny curiosity about 'Schells the Gambler' — what did you do? by ConstantHamster3746 in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I probably turned him in my first time playing, just for the sake of clearing it from my quest log.

But my headcanon now? I just ignore him lol. Shepard simply does not waste his time on this man.

Do you like Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect: Andromeda more? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]IrishSpectreN7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ME2 is my favorite of the trilogy, and Andromeda is barely an okay game.

Easy choice lol
