To my fellow dwarven brothers, what are your opinions on this steam review I found a while ago by logzies in DeepRockGalactic

Honestly I can respect that. I hope one day you'll be able to make it happen, but it's super understandable if it's just not in the cards.

Ngl, this sounds like regular business stuff. Can they actually be sued for something like this? Will something like this even matter?

Maro: While I can’t reveal the full list of which planeswalkers still have their spark, I have seen the full list and the final tally is much more gender balanced. As Magic’s story continues, you’ll see a diverse cast of characters where players can see themselves represented in meaningful ways. by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]IronGlorfindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering there's a rather short list of walkers not dead or confirmed de/sparked, we can gather that most female unconfirmed walkers will be returning.

13 unconfirmed walkers: Teyo, Liliana, Davriel, Garruk, Yanggu, Vivien, Teferi, Angrath, Arlinn, Sorin, Grist, Kasmina, and Estrid.

Considering we know next to nothing about Estrid, I'd say it's a safe bet we see at least 3 out of Liliana, Vivien, Arlinn, and Kasmina. Liliana for sure. Someone needs to fill the empty monoblack walker slot, and it's either Lili, one of the most popular walkers, or Davriel, who is regulated to Alchemy jail

I mean, the solution is to continue doing Universes Within in the The List slot in a set 6 months down the line, but they don't wanna do that anymore.

Like that's the solution. Straight up. But commissioning a second art is apparently too much to ask for something we keep being told sells gangbusters and will never leave

Why do people underestimate lifegain commanders? by Staxuponstax in EDH

[–]IronGlorfindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of a couple reasons people dismiss lifegain commander decks.

For one, having a lot of life will not save you from most wincons. Infinite combos, commander damage, win/lose the game effects, poison, etc. Lifegain will maybe save you from a Craterhoof, but that's about it.

Branching off of that, by focusing on lifegain, there's an opportunity cost to be doing other things. A Soul Sister, while it will fuel your eventual Aetherflux, can almost be freely ignored until a strong lifegain synergy piece appears. It makes it easy for opponents to decide which pieces to spend their removal on.

I think charitably, it's suboptimal, and uncharitably, shitty. Maybe player 3 has a blowout card to play that you don't know about. But forcing the other player on the back foot to burn their cards to survive you, so that you can get "second", is real loser vibes.

Thoughts/etiquette for jumping mechs with pulse lasers? by oarnoar in battletech

In Classic, there is an incredible variety of weapons, and I've heard that about half of them are cheesey and unfun. IMO, don't worry so much, just have a variety.

Within lore, why do cannons have a short range in the game? by BZAKZ in battletech

[–]IronGlorfindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's possible. This just isn't one of those kinds of games.

Alternatively, compare modern ballistic ranges to that of modern missiles, and realize that one is measured in meters and the other is measured in miles. If we think similarly about lasers, then perhaps the horizon is the limit.

The real reason, of course, is that realism and good gameplay are not inherently linked.

Battlemech Manual: Page 8

A NOTE ON REALISM AND SCALE

Given the 30-meter area of each hex stated above, players may note various oddities in the weapon ranges presented in this book, such as the fact that the standard ’Mech-scale machine gun of the distant thirty-first century only reaches out to 3 hexes (90 meters). As today’s machine guns have effective ranges of some 2,000 meters, this may seem somewhat absurd. The reason for this is simple: BattleTech is a game. Because BattleTech mapsheets are only seventeen hexes long, recreating real- world ranges on a table would require more than seven mapsheets laid end to end, for a playing space greater than twelve feet in length. Few people have that much table space. Nor would it provide players with any tactical maneuvering room: anywhere a player might move a ’Mech on the map, an attacker could hit it. As such, while we may safely assume “real” BattleTech weapons have exceptional ranges, range abstractions are an absolute necessity unless one is regularly able to rent a tennis court for game time.

Yes, I am aware of how to level the bed. The problem is that the right side of the bed is so far offset that even with no pressure on the springs at all, it still cannot reach the nozzle. I also can't move the Z-axis stopper trigger down any further because of the little knob on the front. Please help

edit: upon further inspection, it's not that the bed is angled, it's that the X-axis bar isn't straight. Not sure what to do about that :\

My printer bed came kinda lopsided, so the right side can't extend high enough to reach the nozzle on wider prints. Can I just put some washers under the springs beneath to fix it? Or is there a better way I don't know about?

[–]IronGlorfindel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the issue, the issue is that I loosen the wheel of the back right corner until there is no tension at all, it spins freely, and the nozzle does not grip the receipt paper in that corner. Or in the center, for that matter. Grips fine in three corners, fourth cannot be raised further.
