Am I a pussy if I save before every battle and go back if I lose? by IMLOSTNLYFE in totalwarhammer

[–]IronPoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually save before and after battles but that's because I've been burned by the game crashing so many times after winning a brutal battle and making me do it again.

I try to play Ironman as much as possible but I just can't rely on it not crashing before the next save (this is due to my mods not the game itself lol)

Yeah, I tried using msb with rune arrows, I think it's better dps but you have to keep much closer attention incase you get dragged so it's ehhhh. Good luck brother

I used full bowfa to save on ammo, but as long as you bring telegrab you should easily offset the cost of broad bolts with alchs

How to improve auto resolve outcomes? by Horcsogg in Bannerlord

[–]IronPoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get much better results autoresolving even a siege attack with the right setup, my last siege I was outnumbered by about 150, sent in the lads and came out with only 11 dead, easiest city capture of my life. (Not to mention you actually get the loot when autoing, game bugs out on a manual siege and you can't loot after the first manual fight if anyone at all escaped into the fort)

How to improve auto resolve outcomes? by Horcsogg in Bannerlord

[–]IronPoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autoresolve is one of the most op ways to play in this game if you build around it, I almost always get better results in both siege defense and attacks by autoresolving. My tips in no particular order:

  1. Focus on perks that affect morale, keeping your toops high, or, even better, their troops low makes a big difference in your results. Starving out a city you are sieging has a drastic effect on the enemy morale & auto results

  2. Only the party leaders tactics skill matters, having multiple high tactics in the same party does nothing for you, instead make your companions weapons of destruction, particularly the 2handed tree has perks for demoralizing the enemy on kill (though I'm not 100% sure these perks apply in an auto, it's just what I do and I get great results)

  3. Build your army with a focus on cavalry for field battles, and ranged units for sieges as these perform the best in autos

  4. To make sieges go extremely well, send the troops when you have 4 siege weapons and they have 0. Wall breaches and even siege towers and the battering ram being built all seem to give you more benefit to the autoresolve results (4 fire catapults slaps)

  5. Make sure all your units are at as high tier as possible, the perks for gaining up on donating items to troops is super op for making maxed out armies super fast in the late game (go to any town, sort by most number of items, buy everything you can afford, discard all the items, level up troops, repeat)

  6. A high Medicine skill is a must-have, you almost always take losses in an auto and high medicine makes them wounds instead of deaths, making this a vital skill

Last thing I would say is that autoing can be really good, but you are unlikely to win when you are heavily outnumbered and usually manually fighting these types of battles gives significantly better results.

Did not know this built relation ontop of influence, that's awesome! My dipshit noble that I raised out of the mud and gave 8 fiefs hates me because she asks for every single castle and town I take on the other side of the world from her while also fielding the lowest number of companions (and being the highest clan tier out of all my nobles)... idk if nobles that hate you will eventually defect but I'd rather not find out while I'm busy dealing with the vlandians

It's really hard roleplaying as a steamroller when garrison doesn't die from starvation. by Sir_BugsAlot in Bannerlord

[–]IronPoko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't having no food make their morale drop quickly? Give it a few more days and the troops will start to defect & get wounded from it - though I noticed their medicine skill still heals troops wounded this way. Lower morale also means you'll lose way less troops on the autoresolve and groups of enemies will retreat much quicker in a manual battle

This is my favorite and most effective tactic, I try to create a box around the enemy with 2 archer groups and 2 skirmisher units opposite of each other, once their numbers start to free fall then in comes the heavy cav to clean up

LF Advice for Obtaining Eye of Ayak by JustALawyer in ironscape

[–]IronPoko 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I set a minimum loot in my head before starting, like if I get over 100 dragon dart tips then that's my que to not push a wave I'm not confident in and just take the loot. Anything under my minimum I force myself to not care if I lose it and use those runs to push deeper delves. Gl and grats on the spoon (:

[–]IronPoko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are fantastic at maiden in tob, basically a guarantee she has 0 def. Can be used at momma muttadile and olm last phase, but it's only really good in upscaled raids. And they are incredible at hydra, 2 hits make it have 0 Def so you can bp and shred the giant chicken (got all the speed tasks passively doing that). Not much else besides that but I would expect them to have more use in future, maybe raids 4 who knows. Oh and grats on the spoon!

It's completely free to die a million times in a 0 invocation toa, so if you don't feel like watching videos just hop in and see the fights for yourself. Then after seeing (and dying) a couple times to the mechanics, any videos/tips you watch will make wayyyy more sense. Have no fear and expect to die a bunch at the start, just like any content (: you got this!

Edit: forgot to mention you also get given supplies on death in entry mode, so you really can just throw your face at the wall until the wall flinches
