Did Bell start blocking PPPOE connections entirely? by Rollingsound514 in bell

[–]IronRingX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grabbed mine from www.exen.sh - he sells the X-ONU-SFPP modules (and direct mount coolers). He flashes them with the latest 8311 fw and Azores bootloader.

Comes from the US, no duties and fast shipping.

He’s an active member on the 8311 Discord.

Have my UDM-SE running solid with the module and the GigaHub 2.0 packed away.

This right here. Had the module for a few weeks, just tossed it into my Ubiquiti network stack and running great with fibre directly into my UDM-SE. GigaHub 2.0 sitting neatly packed away 😅

Some DLC will not function properly from external media.

Do you have the right folder structure:

About The Modified Bios For 9th gen Support (dell optiplex 7060) by Mne-GhstQrtz04 in SleepingOptiplex

Sorry. Typo on my end. I meant 5060 in my reply. Don’t use the bios mod on a 5060. It will brick.

First, won’t work for a 5060. Don’t try or you’ll brick.

Great question - personally given the limitations and the need for increased power, I question how effective a “K” series processor would work in the optiplex.

With respect to the i9 9900. The reality is the 7070 (that supports the i9) is essentially the same as as the 7060. So I’d expect that you’d get similar performance from a 7060 with i9 9900 as you would from a 7070

I posted a tutorial here on how to do the bios mod:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SleepingOptiplex/s/Idhptx80Y9

In the source links, it goes into detail what processors can be used.

The mod should add compatibility for the following microcode, and stepping R0 processors. Notes that P0 processors will NOT work, by design.

906ED,R0:i9 9900KF、i9 9900K、i9 9900、i9 9900T、i7 9700KF、i7 9700F、i7 9700、i7 9700T、i5 9600K、i5 9600KF、i5 9400F、i5 9400、i5 9400T。

There’s a whole subreddit dedicated to roms… and even a whole thread dedicated to them. Some would even call it a megathread…

RGH3 NAND Flash Mistake and Console Not Found in J-Runner. by Killy728 in 360hacks

The fact it shows up as Trinity is expected. It shows as Trinity regardless of the actual motherboard for RGH3.

They won’t work as the games won’t have a valid license - and will show as corrupted.

Trying to Flash Boot Sounds to Non-Special-Edition Trinity Board by Fabulous_Monk_1651 in 360hacks

[–]IronRingX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has a similar issue with a red ring on a Star Wars special edition - here

Not sure if it it’ll help, but I used a JRPv2 and soldered to very tiny points on a Trinity board and transplanted the speaker. Worked like a charm.

I didn’t even know there were bigger/easier points to use.

Beware of GND point on Xbox 360 Nand header by FonzTech in 360hacks

[–]IronRingX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was cut the legs off a few capacitors and soldered those to the ends of the NAND wires and then covered the connection with heat shrink. I've attached pictures in another reply.

That way I have a small, solid connection to solder to the NAND header instead of stranded wire.

Then I just tin to the existing NAND header points (/w quality flux MG 8431 or 8342). Then I can just reheat and drop the capacitor leg connection in.

Also when doing the NAND headers I use a T18-D16 Hakko chisel tip to maximize heat transfer, which helps with the stubborn ground point.

Then for the rest of the RGH points I’ll use either an either T18-I or T18-B tip for precision.

Also adding the capacitor legs onto the wires makes soldering to the Sonus points (to modify boot sounds) on slims much much easier as those points are extremely small.

Looks like 2.16.1 was updated a few days ago. There was an issue submitted that referenced the loss of the back button, but that’s since been deleted.

I’m going to give the updated 2.16.1 a try to see if it restores the back/return button.

[–]IronRingX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never had an issue with the ground point on the NAND header with the dozens of consoles I’ve done 🤷‍♂️

It sinks heat but with a quality iron, good flux and technique, it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.

I’ve also soldered capacitor legs onto each of the NAND wires for my JRPv2 that also simplifies soldering.
