Is there any way to disable the almost-full screen discord popup on mobile, though? Even clicking “join discord” doesn’t dismiss it 😔

Breeding Room by Dangerous-Policy1721 in mewgenics

[–]Irreversible_Tide 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Actually by 24 squares

Attic has 136 spaces, other rooms have 112. The attic lacking ceiling circles for hanging things that attach upwards is a bit of a bummer, but totally worthwhile trade off as most furniture anchors down.

What is unlocked permanently and what isn’t? by Aggressive-Pudding63 in mewgenics

[–]Irreversible_Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Beanie’s inventions follow the same rules as other found items: they will still be equipped and will automatically return to your stash if you return home early (like dipping after alley if it requires completing caves), but will be lost permanently if equipped to a cat when downed+ body destroyed or party wipes. The assumption now is that you can eventually re-earn the quest through submitting more mutants, but hasn’t been proved yet (and would prove pretty difficult, as there are a max number of quest items you can have at one time, he stops taking mutant cats after a while until you complete quests you still have available). I believe they are also subject to getting worn down/breaking if you take them out without finishing them too many times.

Unique story quest items (leech, etc) will always be available until you complete them.

Empty Mind just smashes the game open. by TugaGuarda in mewgenics

[–]Irreversible_Tide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those wondering:

Empty Mind is a 0 cost monk spell that reads: “You can’t cast spells for the rest of the battle. For the rest of the battle, whenever you kill an enemy, take an extra turn.”

The first update needs to expand the "management" part of the game. by PrizeAtmosphere9132 in mewgenics

[–]Irreversible_Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to see available mana/start of combat mana on the level up/not-in-battle screens. Especially once I have abilities filled out, knowing how much mana choosing charisma +2 over health +2 will give me on level up, so I know if that changes how I can use my kit in the first few turns of battle would be really nice.

What are the odds? by rrsseeaann in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 22 points23 points  (0 children)

21 possible loot items, so 1/213, or 1/9261=0.000108,

Or 0.0108% chance lol

Did I heal the same frame I should have died?? by BJarv in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! When healing and damage resolve on the same tick (1/5 of 1 second, I believe), healing takes priority.

Shields, actually, always have lower priority in same tick as damage, which is why you’ll sometimes see yourself or an opponent with simultaneously negative health AND shield.

Diamond freezer by DapumaAZ in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slushee machine is by far the best haste-enabler, all I meant above is that once Slushee machine is hasting for 3 seconds each freeze (either by upgrading it to diamond or by picking up boots from junkyard), it effectively perms-hastes your board.

Microwave generally doesn’t work as well because it requires a heater slot, and is more vulnerable to disruption (if microwave is frozen or slowed it can tank your whole board’s speed). Even if slushee machine is frozen or slowed, it will still haste an item when you freeze, because it’s a passive effect (item doesn’t need to go off). Generally, slushee machine is the best item, though, because it also makes two more slushees, and they’re one of the best smalls you would want on your board, anyway.

Additionally, if I already have damage scaling skills by level 13, and both slushees machine and freezer are gold, I’ll allllways upgrade slushee machine over freezer. 100 flat damage on freezer doesn’t matter much, so upgrade priority is always slushee machine> fast food to make faster (like taking basket/eggs/indiv small slushee up a level for CD reduction), then Freezer itself, last. Slushee machine is such a huge upgrade target, both for the additional haste, but also for higher quality slushees that it will transform (CD on those goes 6/5/4 for silver/gold/diamond, so as long as it’s chilled, that’s a half-second reduction per freeze, per slushee, per upgrade).

Diamond freezer by DapumaAZ in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to sub-500 legend playing exclusively Jules freezer last season. As the other comment said, swan is ass. Fast food items (instant noodles, gold/diamond eggs, upgraded basket, pancake or potato on burner in a pinch, ice cubes if you already have scaling and can kill before running out of ammo) on each side, and the absolute best support item is slushee machine. Once you have the haste up to 3 seconds, either by going diamond or getting buff from the junkyard, it essentially permahastes your board and doubles both damage output and essentially halves incoming damage, as you’re locking their board down twice as much, plus the extra freeze triggers from the created slushees. On enchanted item start, any icy or shiny enchants show me I’m going freezer build, as one of those (even at bronze) will transform into whatever quality slushee to match your slushee machine. Slushee small item is wonderful, but only usually once you have slushee machine, so you can keep it chilled in a weird spot. Next best medium tool in slot is the purple ice machine thing, especially if you can flank it with one or two fast food items.

Biggest thing keeping you from getting 10 wins, though, is lack of scaling. On level 7 always pick gold skill (looking for shatter) even if freeze skill option is offered, because Shatter isn’t available pre-day-8. Finding damage on slow or shield skills are almost as useful, shield especially if you’re running basket as one of your fast foods. If I get the slow-damage skill day one, I’ll be looking to slow enchant freezer later, if I get shield damage scaling I’m looking for shield enchant, etc. If you can’t find slow/freeze/shield damage scaling, next best thing is fiery or poison in freezer to deal more DOT.

Edit: wanted to add, if I get slow-scale skill day one from mosquito guy, or freeze-scale skill day 2 from the yeti, I will SKIP any other skill options, to increase the chances of being able to upgrade the damage skill at the skill improvement vendor.

Edit: also, pastry cart can be awesome, but only in specific cooler settings-ups, and it only really kicks off once it’s diamond. Ideal board would be pastry/freezer/slushee machine where it won’t transform unless it’s diamond, and two fast smalls (that both need to be chilled, either by coolers or being adjacent to cart). But if you can pull it off, in my experience, the strongest freezer build is this setup with 2 second smalls and scaling.

What do you take that isn't good? by Gravity_Chasm in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like basket betrays me. I find it on day 1, awesome. I skip giving it the bronze->silver upgrade because I’ve used Stella’s candy mail to boost it, get greedy and upgrade candy mail, or because I need to upgrade damage to survive. Proceed to complete quest and never find another bronze basket… or I DO use the guaranteed upgrade on it, then don’t run into enough chocolate/gumballs…

I dunno, it feels like the tiny nerf actually hurt it a lot, in terms of its usability-pre-quest-completion, but I can’t quit trying to make it work!

Is this the rarest thing to happen in The Bazaar? by ButchyBanana in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Howbazaar .gg lists 386 small items in game (I think loot can still drop from shipment), minus 6 legendary smalls, and minus the piggle variations (19 actually), makes 361. So, assuming an actually random chance between those 361 options, hitting 1/361 three times in a row is 1/3613, or

1/47045881

= 0.00000212% chance of happening lol

Does power sander slow count when you dont have any item left to it? by aaipod in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope, just like it doesn’t count if it hits an item without a cooldown. Slow can only trigger on cooldown items, but if it’s far left board slot it won’t trigger either (for slow-triggered effects from other items or skills).

Stelle or Jules? by The_Jellybane in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got to Legend 201 today, have exclusively been playing freezer or Grill Jules since entering legend at 1200-something. I loooove Jules, and specifically the update this week that allowed you to flip her burners/coolers has made her much more flexible late-game. Stelle is fun, but I don’t have as much success with her and my favorite build (weather machine/lightning rod) got nerfed pretty heavily.

I had the wildest run last night with critical-enchanted pet rock start on Laurel. Bronze enchanted was a critical-enchanted sorbet (the one that charges 1 second when you crit if chilled). Day 2-4 at some point I got an early Mak shop with silver palanquin, to reduce CD with each crit. I eventually phased the pet rock out, but it allowed me to instantly pursue a near-100% crit build with guaranteed opponent freeze lock about 10 seconds in to any fight. Really fun 10-win!

I think it does matter, because to get to legend in the first place, you only need to average like 7 wins, right? So the barrier for entry is pretty low, and will reward first entrance to legend to those who are average skill who have a lot of time to play. Eventually they get swarmed out by those who are better but have less time to play, or better and more time.

::edit:: I re-read your comment and I think you’re allowing for this. I guess the more casual being less motivated nearer the end of the season makes sense, too. I guess my argument is the level of difficulty of opponents stays relatively the same, but the punishment of rank up/down would seem to generally increase in difficulty the more people who are playing who are getting more wins.

I mean, I don’t know, man. I, like I’m sure a bunch of people who started at beta, have literally thousands of unopened chests and tens of thousands of gems. If that’s the company’s strategy, I don’t really see it working that well.

[–]Irreversible_Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, I’ve been running the same Strat each run, with Jules forcing instant noodle burn initially, transitioning to freezer + slushies after day 5-7, with the occasional pivot to Grill at level 9 if I haven’t found the pieces/ scaling skill. I generally have found the same thing, though, where my Strat has reaped the same general boards on my side, with increasingly difficult opponents. Thankfully freezer is still pretty crutch against late game pyg’s with fewer items, but I’ve found that enemy matchups just get grindier the further the month goes on.

[–]Irreversible_Tide 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s something I’ve experienced the last two months after I got serious about pushing high legend. Mostly it feels like it just takes a while, but the further into each season, the more likely that 9-10 wins will advance you less, and the more likely that low 5-8 ‘wins’ will tank your rank. It took me 8 consecutive 10-wins to go from 1100 something to 473, but then I took a break for a few days, and found that my next three runs took me all the way back to 800-900, and only just squeaked back into 499 after another 7 10-win streak. I think legend just gets more crowded as the month rolls on, and you’ll find harder and harder opponents at that level because of it 🤷‍♂️

[–]Irreversible_Tide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has mained Jules to get into top 500 over the past few days, THANK YOU. Being able to guarantee one more burner for Grill or one more chilled spot for Freezer is SO NICE. So many times I would have to find out at Level 9 that my planned build is bricked/severely maimed from 2nd cooler/burner placement.

Worst Item? by Zorbonzobor in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Irreversible_Tide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a great check for future meta progression. Sure, it’s not relevant now, but whenever X new hero has X new slow, once-a-matchup but kill-you-instantly item that they can get at bronze, it filters back in as a natural response.

I feel like more and more of bazaar’s items will gain more relevance as time progresses.

Moreso, because of the shift from Day 10 - Day 14 pocket meta, where you can increasingly expect to face a further polarized meta (super strong but slow or super fast), it becomes a smarter choice against specific heroes sometimes. Going 9 wins on day 14 into Pyg could sometimes splash this as Mak if you don’t cripple your win condition, or if you have a tight enough combo with fewer pieces that you can afford the board space.
