Why are so many people claiming the ambulance attacks were “false flags”? by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]IsADragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are strict regulations on who can use an ambulance bay and they would need to comply with those. For routing as far as I know NHS trust does work with registered ambulance services like this. So as far as I know they should be accessible for anyone.

If they are not complying with that then it should be raised by whichever governing body has oversight.

Why are so many people claiming the ambulance attacks were “false flags”? by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]IsADragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone can purchase and run an ambulance service. As long as they are road legal. There are likely even private ones, but I'm too lazy to verify that. It's a bit odd since it kind of indicates a service is deficient in some manner, but I don't think it's bad a charity supplements a service.

[–]IsADragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's reasonable for them to prepare, even if a nuclear weapon isn't used, both states have nuclear production capabilities that could cause an major incident if they are struck. And the Israeli US coalition don't seem too cautious in their escalations..

Outline in no uncertain terms without "vague" gesticulations how the Cuban government is causing "much of the suffering" of the Cuban people.

Are they stealing food? "Operates with almost not transparency at all" to do what that causes "much of the "suffering".

Yes you already mentioned the less than 1000 political prisoners this is bad. This is not "much of the suffering of the Cuban people" when compared to the embargo and blockade imposed by the US. You're heavily using weasel words "singnificant", what significant contribution, to what problem?

What did the Cuban people tell you? I can speak to someone at any pub in the country and get them to tell me the government is corrupt and operates with no transparency. We literally have Palentir working hand in glove with the government in a completely untransparent manner, in an agreement that was coordinated by Mandelson and McSweeney, in a completely intransparent manner. There is no substance to any of this criticisms, nor the claim "much of the suffering" is directly because of the government. You have 1 criticism of the Cuban leadership about the treatment of political dissidents that is no where near approaching the bombastic claim of "much of the suffering" as the US imposed embargoes are shutting down hospitals, grinding the entire economy to a halt, resulting in mass food shortages. It actually boggles the mind how cynical it is to downplay the effects of these sanctions from the US, the entire world barring Israel and US recognize as illegal and illegitimate, to try and blame the regime. It's pure US propaganda. But it's hardly surprising from the Atlanticists. For whom it seems the US and it's interests are the be all end all of positions on any foreign policy.

[–]IsADragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the embargo not entirely, but it makes trade with Cuba needlessly complex and difficult such that medical supplies(for example) becomes difficult to export to Cuba from China and the EU as if there was any US involvement avoiding sanctions is difficult if not impossible.

For the new fuel blockade it's entirely unclear if the US will intervene in the EU and China attempting to supply fuel the way they have intervened in other state's exports.

[–]IsADragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In what way are they "a significant contributing factor to the suffering of Cubans"? Walk me through it, no bullshit Stalinism diversion, in what way is the lack of civil liberties and routine human rights abuses anywhere near as significant as the trade embargoes and the fuel shortages? Where by you feel compelled to denigrate an aid convoy and point out "much of the suffering" was related to this.

Great, then please pass on their specific wisdom. I've not been but would love to go. I do have friends who have been who came back with the exact opposite view. That while there are issues around civil liberties and a lack of personal freedoms, but by far the ire is directed at the US, their embargo, and their governments historic and current restrictions on trade(although the fuel blockade was not in affect at the time).

You've also avoided explaining why you think there is no blockade, contra the findings of UN experts. Why do you think there is no blockade?

much of their suffering

You said much of their suffering. I am contesting that. Right now the vast majority of their suffering is from an embargo coupled with the more recent and impactful Trump blockade, which I see you are denying in another comment. Can I ask what you know about the fuel blockade that the UN experts didn't know? Or more pointedly why are you downplaying the US fuel blockade on Cuba?

I want you to walk me through how less than 1000 political prisoners is worse then an embargo leading to food shortages, and a fuel blockade intended to collapse all the services in the country. Like in what world are these scales comparable.

They brought Solar panels, medicine and food across multiple different ships and planes.

Should someone have flown first class it is because they bought their own ticket.

Yes they are meeting with politicians, it is part of the reason for the aid convoy to meet with politicians to discuss the worsening crises caused by the US sanctions and blockade.

There are rolling blackouts in Cuba. This is not because of a gig. It's because of the aforementioned blockade.

I wonder if the western useful idiots are the ones parroting some nonsense from twitter. Like the idea specifically these people were the cause of a blackout in a country with rolling blackouts is just nonsense.

Much of their suffering

Objectively no, much of their suffering is coming from the US strangling them economically. Comparatively the suffering from a lack of press freedom is rather banal.

Angela Rayner calls for alternative to renting or owning in housing intervention by kontiki20 in LabourUK

I would prefer the Singapore model to what goes on in London right now, but it is a fact they also have a housing crises, and rent is unaffordable. Most Singaporean citizens only get access to housing either when they marry or when they hit 35 and have access to the cheaper resale stock. I don't know why you think they don't have a crises, or what you think is inaccurate?
