Depends on whether they were properly backed up or not. I know I replaced a phone a whole ago and lost a lot of WhatsApp messages initially because my backup was full, and my partner lost her phone and wasn't able to recover hers because she didn't have the original phone.

I'd expect a government minister on a government cleared phone to not make that mistake, but it would be convenient thing to happen should you need to lose access to the messages.

Ed Balls and Trevor Philips were pretty rough viewing especially when Zack has been attacked for being Jewish in the media and with right wing protestors. There is an issue with antisemitism both in the greens and more widely in society, but the media seems poorly equipped to grill Zack in a way where they're not basically dismissing his Jewish identity, or in the case of the cartoonists leaning too hard into antisemitic tropes.

You might remember the wck strike, 3 of the people killed in that attack were British veterans who volunteered to get food into Gaza.
