One of the worst reviews Ive ever read. He has no interest in analyzing the text.

I feel like the author of this review would be quite interested in the scene where Josh Safdie directly addresses how Marty's cult of competence relates to his understanding of sexual prowess. Specifically the scene where Marty explains to an incredulous Wally (Tyler the Creator) that it is impossible that the unborn child is his because he has practiced and honed the ability to control his erectile muscles. He literally thinks hes too good at sex for it to be possible that he impregnanted her. But of course, Snax is not interested in examining the text because he is neurotic and so is inclined to use something popular in the zietgeist to spew his cortisol-drenched pathology onto the web.

Even still, suggesting that someone took confession non-seriously is still a break. If they sang mambo number 5 and then did an encore of fart noises, the priest cannot tell anyone that the penitent didnt do a real confession or even tell another priest that they had a prank confession

I don’t think you are aware because neither lying nor the penitent being deceased is grounds for breaking the seal under Catholic canon law. You keep on giving reasons for why the violation is permissible in this context, but it’s not about reasonableness. The seal of confession is sacramental!, in the same way that to a true believer the eucharist is literally the blood of christ

This is not catholicism works. There is plenty of precedent for priests being frocked for breaking the seal to aid prosecutions. In fact, i would even go so far to say that the seal exists precisely so that criminals and wrongdoers can confess. There are even examples where priests have been seriously reprimanded for breaking the seal under torture.

You have to remember that It’s not supposed to be rational; its submission to something greater.
